Woohoo!!! Good on him but bloody hell, didn't see that coming at all!!! Great find Hope Grosjean isn't having second thoughts about being paired up with another champion. They'd make a strong line-up together.
I'm genuinely stoked with this. I didn't start watching F1 until after Kimi was gone. I really want to see what he can do!
Eric did mention this as a possibility, but a shock for sure, I didn't even think Renault could afford his salary
I thought he was lying about it like last year. Total shock. It'll be good to have him back, but i cant help but feel a twinge of sadness for Senna and of course Kubica.
Im very happy and surprised!! It will be very good to have the 6th world champion on the grid I do feel a bit sorry for Senna though - if I had it my way I would put Raikkonen and Senna together - Bruno has impressed far more in his half dozen races for Renault than Petrov has in two years but I guess Petrov brings all that Russian money to the team :/ Its a sad but true reality when money comes before talent. Just the way it is though, F1 is a business after all.
Great news this, a lot of the joy has gone out of the sport for me recently with the sellout to SKY and a few other things but I might be able to put up with watching the races five hours after the event next season if the ICEMAN cometh again!
WOW, a bit of a shock. Will see how he gets on next season? I wonder if anyone is taking bets weather he'll last a full season?
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am really excited by this. 6 world champions in decent cars. I am a bit of a fan of Kimi, but let's hope he can do well next year.
I'm not a big fan of Raikkonen. I always hoped to see him come good during his McLaren years and thought he deserved more than he achieved, and I was hugely impressed with his second-half of 2007 after struggling to get on terms with the Bridgestones during the first half. His blatant lack of enthusiasm and professionalism during 2008 and 2009 meant I was glad to see the back of him and I don't anticipate anything spectacular from him at Lotus/Renault. I'll be happy to be proved wrong because it's great to see great drivers driving great but I don't think he is one and I expect his comeback will be on par with Schumacher's.
Hi genji, great to see you back =) It sounds to me that kimi has just realised how much he has missed F1 and has fallen back in love with the sport which is great to hear. So we can be sure to see full dedication from him in his return year. Hopefully Renault will pull them selves together and provide a good car for him to drive, this is good news for the boys bak at Enstone and im sure this is the inspiration they have been missing since Kubicas injury. I am pumped for 2012!
Although I'm happy that he's coming back I'm not convinced about 'him falling back in love with F1' I think that's BS. Couldn't make it big in WRC, the Top Seats are locked out and I bet that's the main reason why he came back.
For those wondering who his teammate will be, apparently Petrov has a contract for 2012, but as we know, contracts can fall out.
