He claimed that he was '' tired'' yesterday before England played Estonia, what an idiot he is, there's people getting up at 2am to go to work, that's tired.
Don't entirely agree tbh. If Sterling felt he wasn't fit to play then he should say so - better to be honest with the manager than risk letting the team down by playing at less than 100%. Hodgson still had the right to stick him in the team regardless, this way the manager actually got to make a decision based on the facts, rather than a player so desperate to play they will do it when they aren't fully capable.
Thanks Drogs, Like you said, it should be an honour to play for your country, this chance only comes around 1 in your lifetime, you have to grab it with both hands.
Why cant people get their head around the fact that just because you earn top money doesnt mean you arent human and your body cant be tired, especially in professional sports You rather him picked and play badly? Or risk injury etc
I agree here, set aside he plays for the Hun. He might have a virus or something, it is that time of year after all. if he's not 100% then better to play someone who is. Hodgson though, what a **** for dropping this bomb to the press. He's a got a squad full of players, all he had to do was tell them he was changing it around for this match. He's dropped Sterling in it I think, unfairly. Probably deliberately as it's not like he'll have any axe to grind with Liverpool is it?
Willing to bet that if we were playing a better side he'd have kept his gob shut. I just don't get how in this day and age players can feel too tired to play.
?? I forgot football players are all superheroes who are injected with super serum at birth that eliminates their need to rest and sleep.....
dick. That's your answer to everything, "You wouldn't be saying that if......." Not everyone is as blinkered and rose tintedly biased as you Matth, I am saying it, and he isnt a chelsea player.
You wouldnt be saying this if it was a Utd player in question so you better check yourself bruv before you wreck yourself
I think the hype has gone to his head. He is good but he has not reached the level of Ronaldo or Messi. And for him to dictate when he is willing to play for his country is laughable. Why is he "tired"? Classical example of a player who thinks he is better than he is. The England manager should drop him now and only include him in the squad if he is promises to play whenever asked. There are many players who would have done anyhting to be playing for England!
Really? Whatever day in age it is we are still human, our bodies are the same, our muscles work the same way, do to much and your body feels it etc etc Also in this day in age football is played at a much quicker pace hence the players having to be fitter. I dont get your comment
They are professional athlete's ffs - who's training regimes should be catered to do the opposite of what happened to Sterling. If he's tired now, imagine what he'll be like come Christmas/New year. I stand by what I said, if we were playing a more challenging opposition he'd have played.
I agree. Fact is though, their regimes ARENT catered for this, at least not at International level, which is why we keep getting this problem. Is it a coincidence that players are fine with their clubs and as soon as they join the England set up they begin dropping like flies? Plus he is a kid, who Liverpool have been overly reliant on, and thrown into the Senior England squad far too early out of desperation.
Ok Christian, the other side of the coin is this; Steve Coppell, career ending injury playing for England Neil Webb, career ending injury playing for England. Bryan Robson - TWICE went to a world cup with England while injured thus ****ing up his time at United. David Beckham - forced to go to world cup while still injured, wrecking the start of his next season. Wayne Rooney, ditto above. Michael Owen, season wrecking knee injury while with England. Those off the top of my head, all United players. The conclusion is this; **** England. If you're injured then you pull out.
Bodanki, Chill out spunk breath, i'm only having an opinion on the matter, or do i need your permission to be quiet now. Twat.
Only thing I can come to terms with is the fact people are saying mental strain is having some effect on him. End of the day, Hodgson should've kept his mouth shut because as some have said, he's dropped Sterling in it.
Look what happened with Sturridge, we say it was avoidable but Hodge says not Sterling has played a lot having started all but one of our 10 games this season and the three England matches before Sunday. If he felt like his body needed a rest he should say and as others have said, that useless twat shouldnt be hanging him out to dry Doesnt suprise me though some of the ****e he came out with when he managed us. He is very quick to blame players
