Off Topic Raheem Sterling is an utter moron

Lets be clear - nobody is condoning the abuse he gets, although I am bound to say lots of the usual left wing harpies appear to have become expert lip readers overnight

Sterling’s statement this morning was that of a moron. I would be embarrassed if I had a 7 year old child who could not spell and put together a sentence better.

 

Sterling is the favoured Aunt Sally of the sports pages. Is this another conspiracy theory about "The Left"?

They have all written puff pieces about Sterling recently.

The man in the street doesn’t like Sterling for many reasons, I don’t think his colour is one of them. He’s just a dickhead.

 

The only one I read is Ronay, who writes an interesting column in the Saturday Guardian. The tabloids, particularly The Sun and The Daily Mail have been waging a vendetta against him ever since he left Liverpool, although since Dacre left the Daily Mail it has changed for the better. I'm not an admirer of him by any means, but the man in the street may well have been influenced by the type of headlines we have seen. Ronay's column is hidden away by comparison.

 

Sterling gets a decent press from many IMO. He is his own worst enemy...starting with the fly on the walk Liverpool documentary where he cane across like a lippy kid.

Racism is just used as a stick to Dupree’s justified criticism of him.

 

He was given racist abuse. Was that his fault. It has got everything to do with his colour.

 

How do you know ?

The clip in question shows the Chelsea fan calling him a “Manc c unt”. That’s not racist

The Sun will have a bit of fun, bullying, humiliation whatever you want to call it at the expense of anyone regardless of race creed or colour. Like Graham Taylor, a white middle-aged Tory.

 

I haven't seen any news reports of this story.
The only important question is was Raheem Sterling racially abused or not?

Whether the guy is a nice bloke or a moron is irrelevant.
If the abuse was not racist then the whole thing is a storm in a teacup. It isn't nice but players get dog's abuse from the terraces all the time.
If the abuse was racist then that is wrong and the abusers should be prosecuted.

Nobody deserves abuse because of their skin colour, however unpopular they might be because of how they behave or things they say.

 

Does Neil Lennon deserve the abuse he gets in Scotland ? …… nobody deserves abuse at a football game period …. unless (a) they are the ref or (b) they are wearing a Crystal Palar5e shirt

........In addition to the abuse he gets in Scotland he has been kicked in the head by Alan Shearer, and had to retire from international football because of death threats from Northern Irish hardliners who took exception to him playing for Celtic.

 

Growing into some player. Virtually unstoppable against lower teams, let's see if he can do it against the top teams.

 

Looks good, though like any player, good becomes great when he can do it against the topped ranked teams. But as the saying goes, you can only beat who is in front of you. No reason to go overboard - we've done that so often with England, but the promise is there.
