Next Gen 11 for 3rd place play off kicking off v Marseille at 1130am today in London Ward, McLaughlin, Robinson, Wisdom, McGiveron, Coady, Ibe, Roddan, Morgan, Adorjan, Ngoo NO Raheem Sterling or Suso for that matter, rumours are Sterling on the bench v Wigan
Would be great to see either get 10-15 mins if the situation is right. Wigan play proper football so less risk of the younger smaller lads getting a physical beating. Although a few outmuscles won't be a bad idea just in case Sterling needs to be reminded that's he's got away to go yet until he is a superstar, Although he's cocky enough that he might just make a star quality impact that makes him impossible to ignore: ironically this might be what Kenny's most worried about because the kid is clearly still not ready to do it week in week out.
Remember Macheda at United. Scored in his first two games, it went to his head, reacted badly and Fergie didnt keep him in the team. Now United are not sure whether he'll make it at United. It would be good to see Sterling get a run today. I said before that maybe Sterling was not playing because they wanted him focussed on playing in the NextGen.
Just hope he gets minimum 15 mins, pointless him being on bench to get splinters, hopefully Kenny doesnt do his dreadfully late subs as usual
We won the game 2-0. The goals came from N'Goo & Morgan. That means we have finished 3rd in the NextGen Series!
Well based on his short cameo, he deserves to be on the bench again next game. Lets not get carried away and claim for him to start, he's far from the finished product. However, he showed a great attitude and a lack of fear to go forward and run at them. Good start
Yep,another in a long line of Liverpool starlets to come through in the last 20 years along with errrrrrrrrrrrrrr
why dont you count the former Liverpool youth now playing in the Premiership? And then count the chelsea ones.....You area muppet mate......Now **** off!!
I was not happy he was on the bench and I am certainly not happy that he got game time. He spoke out in midweek and should have been shown that disrespecting your teammates and the management will not be tolerated. Having said that, Sterling did well when he came on and should have done enough in the eight minutes he got to get a place on the bench again in the next game. If he performs to a similar level after making half a dozen substitute appearances then through him in from the start and see how it goes.
Macheda is utter ****e, worst player at QPR by miles this season and believe me he had serious competition in that. We'll take Sterling back right away if you don't want him, throw in Bothroyd. DJ Campbell, SWP and Barton for free as well if you want them.
It was all over the media during the week. However, I see what you are saying and no, I don't have direct quotes to provide
Michael Owen - Manure Stephen Warnock - Villa Zak Whitbread - Norwich Dani Ayala - Norwich Adam Hammill - Wolves Danny Guthrie - Newcastle Lauri Dalle Valle - Fulham Alex Kacaniklic - Fulham I can only think of eight, nine if you count n'gog
I'm not surprised the stories started tbh, he's a highly rated lad who seems to have possibly got a bit ahead of himself, though i do think he deserved a few minutes previous to this. His mum also seems to have no problem giving her opinion, having previously saying she wants him to play for Jamaica i believe. However, I object to people saying he has spoken out when there is no evidence that he personally has
Judgin by what Kenny said today after tha game Sterling wouldnt have been involved today if it wasnt for injuries, and may be dropped again if people are fit next week, regardless of the fact he did more in 6 minutes than some players have done all season It looks like you only get to play if Kenny bought you, talent and performances are meaningless
