It just occurred to me that the Football League want to fine clubs for their losses, yet allow a system whereby a small club's most saleable asset can be snatched for well under 5% of their value by a big club. How can clubs be run sustainably when they lack a product (bar gate receipts/TV money) to sell? I've always maintained that it's not so much QPR that matter in this, it's a smaller club who haven't spent way beyond their means, but have seen the money run dry. What if they produced a Sterling only to have nicked off them by Chelsea/Spurs, which would cause a loss, a £10m fine and admin? What a joke of an organisation!
They don't care about the small clubs, they don't want small clubs like us challenging the big clubs. They reduced the fees clubs have to pay when they steal world class youngster off smaller teams. As for sterling, apparently we have a 20% sell on.
