Some time ago I gave my thoughts on where Raheem was headed in his future and I stated that I thought he would become the quintessential moaner about how he is misunderstood and isn't a money grabber. My thoughts haven't changed and regrettably his actions over the last few weeks have proven that he has become exactly what I expected and calling in sick and refusing to join his employers on their overseas trip smacks of what I think is a total disrespect for his team and the game itself. Why do we have to put up with this selfish nonsense, and it makes me wonder if you can believe a single word that comes out of his mouth and unfortunately he mirrors the attitude of so many players today. Bah humbug.
Not signing a new contract is one thing but this is unacceptable. He should not get any wages while he is doing this
I know the tide has turned from the days when the clubs essentially owned their players and treated them quite badly but this money grabbing and attitude are totally out of order. Recently in the transfer news I read that a player was going to play overseas somewhere and felt that he had no other option than to accept the offer which meant that his weekly salary was going to be cut to only 120K and my heart immediately went out to this impoverished soul who will obviously need help from social services in order to just get by. If any of you have the answer to help these kind of players to get what they deserve please contact the following number. 1-800-WHO-CARES.
It's a ****ty thing to do, but I don't know why we're slating Sterling for doing this. Gareth Bale pretty much did the same thing to go to Real Madrid. A bit closer to home, Adam Lallana did exactly the same thing to go to Liverpool. If Sterling doesn't want to sign a new deal then that's his prerogative. With that being said, the reason Sterling is getting so much **** from everyone is because of his agent Aidy Ward. You may remember him from the Peter Odemwingie saga, where the player was turned away from QPR's doors after trying to force a move there. It's believed that he worked for the company that represented Odemwingie. You may also remember him as Saido Berahino's former agent, which may explain why his name was being thrown around a bunch of times despite being a West Brom player. Sterling is still basically a kid, so I doubt this is his work. It sounds like his agent is pulling the strings.
Unfortunately Ender it has become the norm theses days and agents must carry most of the blame for the upheaval.
No real difference to any of us really, if we want to leave a company we are in the fortunet situatuation to just leave. I was head hunted once to a competitor, and I was forced to work 6 weeks notice. I wasn't as motivated to work those but I muddled through. It's just footballers are tied to longer contracts and in the news. We all want to earn money at the end of the day, so it's as Ender says his prerogative to do this. Footballers earn shed loads but as we've all found out in life you will always live to your means regardless of the salary.
Thought this was a Bristol City forum? I don't give a toss about Liverpool or any other Prem team.......
Sterling is being poorly advised by his agent IMO Interesting that Berahino has sacked that agent because he's not impressed by how he is handling Sterling
What's funny about that? What would you call it, when you are working for one company, another company contacts you and ask to meet up?
Nope, because that company then got me back after 2 years. We are concrete sluts in the technical departments we move on make some extra dosh (like Sterling) then move again. My old man had more company ties than socks he was the master concrete whore.
Sterling has the usual modern, spoilt, overhyped and overpaid player mentality which says 'I'm entitled to....' After the to, you could insert Respect - Why ? Everything - Probably Earning a million quid a week - Sorry mate you're not worth it Better treatment - really ? I have no respect for players like him or their agents. That's one thing I don't want us to attract when we get to the Prem, but I fear it's inevitable
With you all the way on those comments angelic. Entitlement expectations seems to be a modern trait whereby the guilty appear bemused at the rest of the world's ranting about their excessive greed. Self confidence is a wonderful thing but not at the expense of everything else that makes up the human psyche.
RODney My was a gentle leg-pull, inferring that no employer in their right mind would engage your your services. I'm sorry if I offended you.
