http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21611064 Rafael Benitez has said he will leave Chelsea in May and described the decision to give him the title "interim manager" as a "massive mistake". After beating Middlesbrough 2-0 in the FA Cup fifth round, the Spaniard also criticised some of the club's fans. He told BBC Radio 5 live: "Chelsea gave me the title of interim manager, which is a massive mistake. I'm the manager. The fans are not helping us. At the end of the season I will leave. They don't have to worry about me." Read the full story. Not that i'm suprised. Chelsea fans can hardly be classified as classy can they, when their main player is John Terry. Yes it wasn't the best appointment and they shouldn't have sacked RDM, but isn't the real person at fault Abe? Turning on your manager from the start and creating a poisonous atmosphere in the stadium won't help your team along will it. Also, who would want to come to Chelsea after the way Rafa and the rest were treated? A psychopath maybe? But at least there isn't any further negative news about Arsenal or Wenger in the papers!
Here we go... how pathetic, vulgar, disgusting, ridiculous, classless us Chelsea fans are. Heard comments like Chelsea fans will 'rot in hell' and all that. Yo have to understand, that we haven't done this to another manager before (U'm talking about the fans). Yes AVB got on people's nerves a little bit last season but we weren't making banners etc. and we weren't chanting. We have an interim manager who still loves Liverpool, who said us Chelsea fans have no passion and who has constantly criticised Chelsea FC in the past. He never should have taken the job. He took it as a stepping stone imo to get some money and to then move on. Tick it off the CV that he came to Chelsea. Of course if we got another manager we wouldn't be like this towards him from the off. Most of us now want stability hence we were outraged that RDM got the sack. But... as you aren't a CFC fan you won't be able to see it from our view which I understand. Hey if this were Spurs or Arsenal imploding then I'd be laughing too but it is frsutrating and unless you're in that position, you won't get that.
As i said in the other thread i replied to - Are you willing to address these concerns with the one man that sacked RDM and brought Rafa in to begin with? Are you prepared to stand up to the man or turn a blind eye and beat up on the fall guy? You would get a lot more respect and sympathy from opposing fans if you took a stand. But we all know that this won't happen and unfortunately with that man in charge, Chelsea will continue with this destuctive policy of chopping and changing managers at a whim.
I do agree with you... It is Romans fault in a way but I really think it's his advisors are the ones we should stand up to and trust me, we would easily do that. The likes of Emenalo, Buck and Gourlay really need to go. They are clueless. We should follow in the path of Bayern and get advisors who really care about the club and then we'll start moving against in the right direction. Us fans are getting fed up with it all... Chants of 'Roman Abramovich, is this what you want?' etc. but we won't face Roman you're right.. it is fear... But also he has done a hell of a lot of good for our club. What I want is stability now. Get someone like Laudrup who has the potential to be the one imo. You can say why would anyone come to Chelsea after the way Rafa was treated but lets be honest, that won't happen again if it was Laudrup. We'd be fully behind him. Most of us want stability and hopefully we can get that starting from next season.
When you go from nothing to everything through the power of one man, you fear standing up to him in case he removes his power. Chelsea and City are absolutely reliant on their owners. If the fans stand up to Abramovich he'll stop investing, and the club will decline - simples. You made your bed, you lie in it. I've heard Chelsea fans saying this and that about Rafa, who cares if he still "loves Liverpool?" The man is a professional and will give his all for Chelsea while he is there. Gareth Bale is an Arsenal fan, does that mean he's going to try and sabotage Spurs? Of course not. The entire premise that this vitriol is based on is ridiculous. Rafa once insulted the club - big whoop. Chelsea fans have been going on about this for MONTHS instead of supporting their team and it's done nothing but cause problems.
FFS some fool has started a thread in the Chelsea board wanting fat frank or terry as interim manager until the summer, you could not make this **** up haha. You could almost make up a conspiracy theory, lampard and terry have sabotaged that many managers until they got offered the job. Chelsea need to boot those two out the door if they ever want to try and move forward from the shadow of the mourinio era.
Can't say I blame Rafa to be honest. Yes Roman shouldn't of hired him as it was never going to go down well with the Chelsea fans but that is hardly BenÃtez fault. Like what was said above, Rafa is the fall guy, the real villain of the piece is up higher than management. But will the Chesea fans aim their frustrations to right the person, will there be a revolt? Русская революция
Hey...hands off laudrup had enough changes of manager recently! The only place I would warmly see him off to is Arsenal - and hopefully not for a few years yet!
Chelsea are starting to have a problem with this. They are going to run out of capable managers willing to take the job. At some point, even wads of cash are not going to compensate for this kind of disruption to a manager's career. The problem is also that if you do well, then people say that you only won because you were bankrolled through the yazoo, and if you don't then you are a muppet. I'm sort of enjoying it. Couldn't happen to a better club as far as I am concerned.
Rafa falling out with and blaming everyone else. There's a shock. The guys is a monumental bell end and a **** manager.
I think you are wrong in that football worldwide has generally descended into what can be bought. Chelsea and Manchester City are trading on this basis, and while there is enough money offered, there will always be a taker. It's kinda what some Chelsea fans are arguing with regards to Benitez.
I hoping that this will act as the catalyst for an end of season implosion from Chelsea And it will be all be self inflicted.
No... but he could be sacked and we get someone else in as interim. I want Di Canio but that isn't likely to happen... Imo... he'll be leaving on Sunday
Mate we really are clutching at straws... But... yesterdays win saw a lot of positives for us... Mata, Lamps, Luiz, Hazard, Ba, Cole, Cahill and Mikel were all rested. And we still managed the 2-0 win. It will be interesting tbh... I think it's between us and you though I do want a draw in the NLD on Sunday
Easy to criticise from a distance but if Alex Ferguson criticised Arsenal fans and called them passionless and plastic, guaranteed he won't be made to feel welcome.
