Rafa obviously loves Liverpool and still believe that he has unfinished business here. It must pain him to see the players he wanted to buy for LFC turn into massive stars, Pain him to see the fruits of his labour, with regards to the youth set up, benefit another manager and pain him to see Mourinho showing the rest of the league how to win tactically. Whether or not he'd be the right manager is a totally different thing. Does he still have it? Who knows!
Liverpool FC Transfer Gossip: Rodgers lines up £12m Vietto move, Milner signs pre-contract deal, Benitez wants Anfield role, Danilo to join rivals ****! has Danilo become a utd fan!!!
This is a non story unless we hear the entire transfer committee is sacked and rodgers suddenly is willing to work woth DoF who is running the other sides of the club. IMO we have let our academy drop off quite a bit in quality recently in coaching etc. we will see.
BR wouldn't work with a DoF, especially not Rafa. They have very different footballing philosophies and let's face it, Rafa wants to manage the club again and is a political animal.....it would just stink the place out. There is no question imo that the output of our academy is down to Rafa. Whether or not this is better/worse under BR is hard to tell. Unfortunately, it's gunna take several years to find out.
More than happy with BR at the mo,but its nice to have someone of Rafa's standing as a possible future replacement. Should something happen with BR,I think the majority of reds would take Rafa back (some wouldn't I know)
He started circling when Rodgers looked to be on a sticky wicket a few months back, he must be gutted that he's got some results since. Even when you end up bombing Rodgers out, you'd be making a massive mistake wheeling the FSW back in.
He started back in 2013; http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/apr/10/liverpool-brendan-rodgers-benitez ..........and then popped his considerable head above the parapet again back end of last year when you were struggling. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/rafa-benitez-fuels-speculation-liverpool-4644992 Both comments were aimed at fueling speculation.
I do agree.. but this is the only role i could see rafa leaving naopli for this summer the point i have on academy is that rodger sis not over it at all. Im nt sure who is doing the hiring etc but i do feel the players going into it and the coaching going on has been less over the period and the only thing rodgers managed to get done is all teams playing same formation as firsts (and of course keeping real close ties to bring kids to 1st team training)
Exactly, and he's hardly been subtle about it either, neither were the timings of his comments a co-incidence.........hence my 'circling' comment....
It's done everywhere....by other coaches....in many cases by their agents....it's what they're paid for tbh....I seem to recall LvG doing similar with Liverpool, then Spurs, then Liverpool and then Utd.....Players do it all of the time.....It's no great shakes really. Good for wumming though
I never said it wasn't mate, but I think Rafa's taken it to a 'level' tbh. I bet Rodgers was fuming when he read the stories at the time like.
Wishful thinking!! The quote itself is not even directly from Rafa! When LvG did it, he named teams himself. New level my arse btw, can't be long now and we'll hear that Moyes enjoyed his football management most at Everton
