Jose spent 3 years at the club and a 3rd of a billion.

Rafa came in with no time to prepare and the season already well under way with the team already knocked out of the Champions League and got to spend 0 cash.

Rafa managed to win a European trophy in that short time where as Jose didn't manage it with a fortune and time.

Rafa came in being hated by the fans and still brought success, Jose has been hated by many Madrid fans last season and brought in no success, Rafa dealt with the adversity far better than Jose did.

I don't think Rafa was as bad a manager as many of you made out.

No one denies Jose won things in his 3 years but no one can deny he had the best possible circumstances, wads of cash, fans not used to winning things and no financial competition in the PL at that time, Chelsea alone were the financially muscled club that no other PL club could match in transfer fees

Jose took uniao leiria into a chanpions league spot in his first season. Their ground capacity is 2,500. Now they are in div 3.

He won the CL worth Porto and the league on a budget smaller than Benfica and sporting too.

He won the treble with Inter after a £47m spend. Milan spent more and payed higher wages as did Roma

Rafa did okay. Better than most of us expected. I'll give you that.
But if you are trying to get some kind of admission of Rafa being better than Jose :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Rafa indeed won a European trophy but only becuase we got knocked out the C.L. Jose never got the chance to try and win the Europa league; he was too busy getting us to semi finals in the C.L whilst also winning multiple domestic trophies.

Jose has won 2 C.L with unfancied sides and been in many other semi finals.

Rafa is a very good manager, Jose is a great manager.

You cant really make comparisons between the two! Both have done a great job for the club in very different circumstances! Its just that one is very , very popular and the other is a former enemy!

This isn't even a legit comparison. Rafa isn't in Jose's league.

    Good coach, average manager.

To a mangey dipper Rafa will always be better but as we Chelsea fans know they are a) stupid b) deluded. Arthur ****ing Scargill could have won the Europa Cup with that champions league winning squad. Rafa will always be regarded by the majority of Chelsea fans as a fat useless **** who has skin thicker than a herd a rhinos. <ok>

Rafas also a good cup manager but how many league titles has he won? 2?

Jose has won many leagues titles and would probably have more if it wasn't for managing Real during Barca's greatest ever period.

with all due respect to Rafa - it is an insult to compare him to Jose!

heck I even find it insulting Jose, when they compare Alex with him.
