Jose will love that, being sacked and replaced by Rafa. I can't see Jose lasting much longer at Madrid, the fan's won't stand for his disgraceful behaviour and his terrible football. I would like to see Rafa get the job and I think he would do well there.

if rafa takes that job he will ruin his reputation forever... he badly badly dented it with us over clashes with rotten owners but also with bad buys and 7th but at inter he really blotted a good good career. I'd be amazed if ronaldo would take rafa and alonso might just want out. If it happenes he's very brave but its the job i'd say he really wants to do

He's the local boy done good. I think along side managing us again, Real is the only place he'd go and good luck to him. the man needs a job, he's been sat at home in his dressing gown watching Jeremy Kyle for too long
Ignore the haters. He didnt have a positive net spend for a few years and managed second before we crashed to 7th. Which in hindsight doesn't seem all that bad. Yea he bought some duff players but he also bought some absolute gems, the same can be said for our current management.
I think it will be a good move for Rafa, going back to manage a Spanish club. He will be backed by the owners so he can bring in whoever he wants which he struggled with at his last two clubs. It would be a shame because I hold hopes of him returning to Liverpool one day.
I think its an intriguing move if it happens. Jose may be a 'winner at all costs' , but when you don't win, all you're left with is costs (to reputation etc.) In my opinion, I think the Inter move is something of a red herring. When Jose left Inter, he left a team formed in his image. He'd transferred a large number of personnel into, and out of, the side. When Rafa arrived, he was refused the chance to make any transfers in playing personnel. Inter also suffered a number of injuries to personnel and when Rafa was sacked, although being 13 points off the top, they had 2 games in hand (because of attending the WCC). It is impossible to say whether he'd have been able to turn things around, although Leonardo (brought in as a temporary replacement) was allowed to dip into the transfer market and bring in reinforcements, finishing the season respectably and winning the Coppa Italia. I don't know whether Rafa will be a success if he goes to Real, but I hope he'll be given a reasonable crack of the whip there. Unlike Jose, he does want a team to play attractive football (He has his detractors, but remember Rafa gave Liverpool a 0-4 at the Bernabau and a 4-1 win over Manchester United within days of each other - proof if it was needed that a Rafa team could play attractive, attacking football), not just grinding wins out. His record against Barca is better than Jose's record, particularly domestically with Valencia.
I think that would be difficult as rafa would want total control of transfers and LFC doesn't offer that anymore. DC was highly rated to FSG by Billy Beane and FSG would take his opinion over anyones when it comes to player recruitment. Liverpool Football Club is a completley different machine to what it was 3 years ago. If the owners could talk Rafa in to working alongside DC and if he were to bring in an assistant who is a player person (but still keep Steve Clarke) then maybe... maybe it would be a success
At least he had the ball's to go to a different country and manage another team outside his comfort zone, I can only laugh at the thought of bacon face trying to win the Spanish or Italian league.
But how is that working out for them? They have no idea about football players and probably thought..."hmmm £35m? He must be World Class?". They have also stated that they would not bring Rafa back in, probably due to his relationship with the last owners and probably don't fancy a manager who demands 100% backing in the transfer windows. My worry is, if anything happened to DC and KD then I fear they might bring in a 'yes man' again. 15 months is a long time and still no decision on the Stadium... fingers crossed hoping they don't turn into H&G Mk II.
I'd imagine that they would bring in a head coach as opposed to a manager type person to take the reigns after kenny. yeah you have mentioned Carroll there but Comolli has also been responsible for us signing Suarez, Coates, Bellers, Henderson and a few kids too (Marc Pelosi & Alex O'Hanlon off the top of my head.) I reckon our next manager will be someone like either Jurgen Klopp or Joachim Löw. someone young but tactically astute to compliment DC's transfer savvy

Such is Rafa's love and desire for the club, I think it would allow him to become more flexible with the current owners. Klopp and Low would be very good shouts. There was one other guy we were linked to before Kenny - I can't remember his name but he was young, liked to play attractive football and was in charge of Hoffenheim (I think) and led from the lower leagues up to the top of the first league.
