Radio Luxembourg?

Is it still on the go.

Spent many a late night when I was a kid listening in.

The abiding memory is just how **** the sound was.

Was that during the war grandad?

 

No, it was between the years of 1973 and 1978, approximately. Used to have a transistor radio (wireless) which was shaped like a book. That was when I was aged 8 - 13 years.

5 years in fact, which coincidentally is one of my favourite songs by Dame Bowie. That and All The Madmen.

So because of your comments I now have him serenading me in my head.

I remember Luxembourg, ER. They used to play all the pop music, but like you said, the reception was ****e.

The things people did before the advent of telly eh?

 

No but I remember Tiger Tim and Jim Sandison.

Also "half way down Robertson Street" Some ****in advert.

 

Dr Dick was Richard Park. He got many a crank call from my big brother and sister.

 

Capital for me back then - damn sight better than it is now!

 

Absolute radio is the one I listen to now. They've got a 60's 70's 80's 90's and 00's channel.

 

Absolute radio is ****e. That **** in the morning who thinks he's a comedian - I've had surgery that was more amusing than him.
