Suggests you all have a listen and you will learn something very interesting as to how the police are in many cases operating illegally by using Section 27 to restrict and control away supporters at matches. They had a Barrister commenting on what the police describe as a 'Bubble' . It looks like their restrictions on our trips to leeds and Cardiff could well be illegal. It just needs the lub to stand up for our rights. It is on the BBC Podcast http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/5linvestigates#playepisode1
Must admit, you guys seem to have a lot with the OB and football. In Oz we have very little trouble with the 'wollopers' (as they are known locally). Footy in this country, be it Aussie Rules, League, Union or soccer, never seem to attract a 'rough' element. Thats not to say we don't have the odd stouche at times, but generally, there has never been any crowd trouble to speak of. I put this down to the fact that in Rules, League and Union, the aggresion is ON the pitch, in soccer a team can play for ninety minutes and come close, but not score a goal. This is very frustrating to fans and emotions can run high, leaving individuals with a lot of pent up emotion that they cannot release. So, anyone trying to come the big show, or in your parlance "giving it large" is seen as a target. As i see it, the OB have got to shoulder a lot of the blame for this because of their, largely, unneccesary shows of force and intimidation, trying to appear 'strong', when in fact it shows a weakness of planning and total misunderstanding of the situation. Keeping fans apart is not a bad idea (after all, who would get close to, say, a Bristol City fan, you never know what you may catch! Or a Charlton fan, you may end up smelling of fish, and Weeds? Well, 'nuff said!) But more seriously, I believe in a n effort to try to be seen as doing something, the OB have simply gone too far and breaking the law, is just one of their ploys, after all, don't they do it all the time? Them and us, bro', them and us.
