I wanted to tell them about the day Saints played Arsenal and we had a young lad playing (can't remember who) when he was upended by Kenny Sansom who then said to the young lad "How many England caps have you got nipper"* or something to that effect when Channon turned and said "And just how many of your's still fit you Kenny?". * I think nipper is something only Southampton people say.
Different eras StG. You're probably talking about Kenny Sansom upending Alan Shearer. If Sansom had said that to Channon, early in Mick's career he would have been saying it from his playpen.
I recall a similar story about Alan Ball with Andy Gray, AB took out AG, after the game AG stormed the Soton dressing room shouting "whats that little prick ever done for football" he got a reply mentioning the World cup and stormed back out.
