Thought I'd post a worthy tribute to our reliable and likeable Czech that I found on LoftForWords. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_news.php?storyid=32221&utm_medium=twitter&utm_term=%23qpr&utm_content=%23qpr&utm_source=twitterfeed "John Harbin, an eloquent and talkative Australian fitness coach brought to the club by Dowie, wrote in his excellent programme notes that people moaning about the behaviour of footballers do so because the newspapers focus on the lousy antics of a mindless minority. He mentioned Cerny - who arrived early for training every day, stayed afterwards helping the younger pros, and then returned home to his wife and two children - as a more typical example. His release disappoints me, not because I think heâs still a viable playing option at his age and with a long standing back problem, but because when Harry Redknapp talks about having the âright sortâ around the place I donât think youâd ever find a much better example than Radek Cerny." Goodbye Radek and good luck for the future. Wouldn't mind seeing you back sometime in a coaching capacity.
it was a good write up, he was a great guy and never moaned once, I too witnessed the morons in Q block abuse him on his debut and it was a disgrace. I always used to ask people whos better, Camp or Cerny to see if they knew anything about football. The former is bombed out of every club after 18 months while Cerny is better both on and off the pitch. Someone one LFT was even campaigning to bring camp back last week.
