I thought I'd point you all in the direction of an article I'd just made: http://www.not606.com/content.php/310-Spanish-GP-Race-Preview

It wouldn't be a bad idea for a few more of us to do some things like this as it promotes the site. NewsNow will start publishing them from July, which gives us just over a month to get some practice in.

It would be good if we had an Article Editor for the F1 section as well. Personally I think cosicave would be good at it, but if anyone else is interested in doing it just get in touch with Mick or Syd.

AG, don't know whether it is just me, but apparently I don't have permission to access that page you linked to?

I've thought of doing a few articles, but I've got exams on at the moment, after which I might settle down into doing some writing.

Prime Minister Cameron, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Looks like the same problem I had Carno.

Also, I can't see the article through the articles section of the site?

Try it now, I've just published it. It was the first one I'd done so I didn't know exactly what I was doing. <confused>

    Yep, got it now.

Edit:...and it looks and reads fantastically. Well done. If we have a group of people who want to start contributing articles, do people want to talk about it in advance? Just so it saves people covering the same ground. For example AG, if you plan on doing a post-race report, say so now so that nobody else does one!

    Nice job.

As for an article editor, Cosicave would do the best job imo. He expressed interest in the global thread Mick started, so presumably he's still up for it.

    Yeah - good work, Abs.

May I offer some constructive criticism?

That "the" isn't needed, is it? Or perhaps you meant "the Barcelona race"?

I think Maldonado's position should give confidence "both to him and to his ailing Williams team" and "three stopper" should be hyphenated, but maybe I'm being pedantic.

The main thing I noticed was the last paragraph about the undercut and running primes in the final stint. It's just kind of left hanging without linking back to today's race. If you rearranged the last paragraph then the article would end on a point rather than an observation. For example:

    Cheers Genji. <cheers>

There were loads of errors in it when I proof read, didn't quite get them all though. I thought the end was quite weak, but I couldn't be bothered to spend more time on it than I already had. Your's sounds much better. <ok>

It's such a small change but I think it has a bigger impact than you'd expect it to have.
