Race For Wing-Back Heating Up

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Luis Figo no7, Jul 27, 2011.

  1. Porto wing back Alvaro Pereira’s agent Luca Maurelli has told TMW in Portugal that Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in the Uruguayan: “The player could be good for the Bianconeri by virtue of his ability to play over the entire left wing. Right now we have registered interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. But, he would fit very well in at Juventus under Antonio Conte.”

A stumbling block could prove to be the £17.5million buyout clause in Pereira’s contract.

I'd say he is much better than Cissokho, he is twice the defender Cissokho is and practically as good going forward, plus he will have a mate in suarez already here, we paid 18m for johnson so 17.5 for pereira doesnt seem too bad in comparison and tbh i reckon he would be available for around 13-16m

I saw him in the europa league, and he seems pretty good. Not worth that buy out clause though.

Seems like a fair price mate... And we do have money to spend after all,but it seems like hes headed to Juventus, sadly.

About 6-9 million. Nothing more. He's good, not outstanding.

I'd like to see us make a move for his fellow countryman Godin as he looks like a quality CB who has the ability to bring the ball out of defence and the potential to fill Carra's boots when he retires
