Most of you won't remember him, in fact my knowledge of him is purely down to my father's memories. He took over from Ken Nethercott in '59 after Ken broke his shoulder against Sheff Utd. No overseas player has made more appearances for City by quite some way. He was City's no.1 until a certain Mr Keelan was signed and finished his playing career with Wisbech Town. Upon his retirement he became a bookmaker and lived in Norfolk for the remainder of his life.

    RIP Sandy

Remember him well too, the second in that trio of great goalkeepers, Nethercott, Kennon and Keelan, who took us almost from post-War to the 1980´s. Lovely man too, apparently, but then, weren´t they all at that time.

    RIP

He was a gentle giant. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and he never had a bad word to say about anybody. He had a few businesses over the years as well as the Bookies and everybody who worked for him loved him. Eventually he sold up and spent a few years as the local rep for ' Famous Grouse ' and was equally well liked by everybody in the trade. RIP Sandy.
