No pretentions with Rick Wright, he said it as it was - he wanted CCFC to be successful as long as he made money. We have had much worse than him R.I.P. Rick.

Aye, those were the days scull - and he was the bloke. <ok>

The days when a hundred grand made a huge difference to a club. Nowadays, it wouldn't pay a week's wages for some players.

Something has gone dreadfully wrong with this game of ours.

taff you're right he did...I can remember one season we were promoted ('92/3 I think?) cant remember exact figures but it cost £x for top 2, £x for 3-6 and £x 7 or below. we were outside top 2 until the last few weeks

JH, yeah he owned Butlins at Barry Island as well as being our chairman. Brought Eddie May to us and that trip to Scunny is one of my best memories of supporting this club. 7000 bluebirds up there and what a party that was

    RIP Rick

Feels like yesterday. It's when I started going to watch city , four or five games a season and got to call myself a city fan. Another minute's applause today, I imagine.

    No.

Ricks scheme was different and based on league position.

    RIP Rick.

That promotion season was a great one. Beer , transit vans and rare success!!! Wrexham and S****horpe away were great away days.

Wrexham away - wed gone Posh and ditched the transit for a mini bus as noone wanted to drive. Pulled up just outside Wrexham in a quiet boozer at about 11. Old fella behind the bar couldnt believe his luck as there was 16 customers boosting his tills. Unfortunatelt about 10 minutes later 2 coach loads of nutters spotted our flag and came in the pub.

Old bloke panicked. Conversation started Old fella " theres another pub just down the road" Nutter " Hire some more staff you" ****"

We decided to down our pints and head quickly to Wrexham.

Im not kidding you when I left there was a kid with this lot who couldnt have been more than about 12 with a pint and as we were pulling off for of these lads were carrying the pool table out of the pub.

Not suprisingly we passed a number of police cars doing about 90 heading towards the pub.

Never found out if they made the game.

    We won 2-0.

    Those were the days.
