Terrible news down here and it's a sad day. I'm not a big cricket follower and it's still hard to take.

Just days before his 26th birthday and the ball that struck him was bowled by one of his best mates, Sean Abbott, whom he played a lot of junior cricket with. R.I.P. Phillip Hughes. Hope this doesn't cause the end of another career in Sean Abbott, as it was just a freak accident

Very sad days for his family and fellow players. One of the many who entertain all of us who watch sport every day.

    RIP.

Really shocked by this, I was expecting an announcement that he was going to be okay, despite it obviously being serious. Tragic.

Awful news, really came as a shock. A great talent taken in the prime of his life, R.I.P Phil.

Spare a thought for Sean Abbot as well, must be devastating for him, although in no way should he blame himself, it was just a tragic accident.

There are no words that can describe this terrible accident or bring comfort to those concerned. One can only feel for Phil's family and also Sean Abbott must be going through hell just now.. Early reports are saying that Phil was NOT wearing the LATEST protective helmet so expect more on this tragedy.
    R.I.P. Phil Hughes.

I hope they don't make a fuss about that, none of the current helmets would have prevented it. They need to leave his family and friends in peace and let them mourn their loss, not create a media storm suggesting it could have been prevented, there's no benefit to that.
