    She gave me the inspiration for beetroot and jam sandwiches from the Vicar of Dibley, a lovely matter of fact funny lady. P.S, I prefer cheese with my beetroot sandwiches and was eating them in the delivery room during the birth of my son 50 years ago - thanks Liz for some lovely memories.

    She was brilliant in the Royle Family and in everything else I ever saw her in too.

    I love beetroot ..vinegar'd from jars on chips .. as a chutney, Polish do a good one, plain cooked as veggie or with cheese a few years ago gave me a near heart attack as when taking a pee I noticed it was red thought I was peeing blood ..doesn't happen all the time ... red bricks do though ...............<yikes>
