Currently playing with a top-six team; he holds the Premiership record of most consecutive appearances, amassing 226 games over six seasons. During this period he held onto his first-team place, remained injury and suspension free. In his early career he was signed by both Brian Clough and Kevin Keegan, but never played a competitive match under either.
I would have said Friedel, but again the Managers in questions have put a moment of doubt in my mind.
Sure I remember Matt Holland playing a crazy amount of games in a row. Clough and Keegan bit threw me as well
It is Friedel. He was signed by Clough for Forest, and Keegan for Newcastle, but couldn't get a work permit either time. Strangely enough, when his move to Forest fell through, he signed a contract with the US National federation, and played exclusively for the national team without actually having a club side.
Spot on Willy! Made this one up myself when I was trying to establish the most reliable player. Does anyone else have any more 'Name the Players' to pose?
Not quite a name the player - and no googling please! - but which revoluntionary musicans father was known as the 'Black Arrow' and played for Celtic.
Nope - i like the Bob Marley answer - i think that's what i plonked for when asked this question in a pub quiz. Gil Scott Heron's father, Gil Heron, was the first black player to player for Celtic in the 1950's.
As I'm just about to have a couple of them poached on toast, which Rangers legend was described as being "As versatile as an egg"?...
