Now to say I am happy about losing seems the most moronic of statements since Steve Evans claimed we won the world cup in Crawley! What I'm trying to say is that nobody should be happy to lose but to be losing to Premier League in pre-season is only a positive ahead of the coming season. There are plenty of teams that do nothing but play non-league teams they are going to beat 5-0 playing walking football, however we are really testing ourselves ahead of the new season which means that when the games that matter come around we will be ready. Basically I feel that losing 3-0 to palace is better than beating a team like Maidstone 7-0 as the boys will have to work much harder in pre-season and will then be able to do better in the real season. Obviously I would like us to be winning but we are not as good as Millwall or Palace hence we were promoted out of League 2 and Palace were promoted out of the Championship! We will be fine and in my opinion we were so much better against Palace than we were against Millwall so all the signs are positive. Im really looking forward to the weekend now as I feel our hard work against the big teams will pay off against lower league opposition, keep the faith, amazed that some people are worried already, pre-season counts for nothing in reality and once we start in League 1 we will be promotion material I am sure of it!

I agree with gfclukey, I was at the game and we can take a lot of encouragement from that I reckon.

Don't be fooled by the 3-0 scoreline, 2-1 would've been a fairer reflection on how things went. Linganzi looked really good, as did Whelps and Martin. What I can't understand though is why Mallen isn't playing Cody and Bayo together in pre-season.

Roll on Woking... they are actually a half-decent side, but obviously I'll be disappointed if we don't win that one!
