poor quinny had a lot to do with getting what they thought was a decent manager, niall talks with a great knowledge about football , oneil i think would have been better with him still at the club as would the club in general, i have never heard a bad word spoken about this man, a true legend and a perfect gentleman.

Quinny certainly talks a great game mate but he had 5 games as manager and lost the lot - that in the 2nd tier of the game too and included an embarrassing defeat in the League cup to Bury. Its easy to sit in a warm studio and talk about the game than it is to motivate and build a football team with a bunch of average players.

I do however agree that I wish he was still the voice of the club as communications have all but dried up from the current set up.

John Robertson Bobby? Maybe but I think too much is being made of this. He wasn't there when we went on a spree back in second half of the 2011/12 season was he? If results had gone other ways nothing would be said about it.

WE never got going this season for whatever reason but we need to focus and stay up and then go again next term. If we are still struggling come Christmas then I'd look to replace O'Neill for sure but for me, he gets another bash at it over the summer and the first 18 games of next season.

I'm not saying otherwise Billy and was reacting to someone saying Quinny spoke more sense than O'Neill.

By the way, I don't remember you being quite so negative or sarcastic with the prospect of a Wembley FA Cup Semi Final just last season? In his first dozen games or so as well?

No but if you are going to have a go as Billy was about the Boro and Bolton debacles, then I am entitled to post the alternate scenarios when MoN actually got us to a gnats cock from a Wembley adventure in his first 3 months?

You anti O'Neill lads just can't have the argument all one way?

Alright Cest, nee bother lad. This is his first job without Robertson & he's ****ed without him.
He say's he's not worried about relegation????????????
    He's lost the plot man.

Open your eyes & admit he's been a total flop.

    An abject failure imo

Alternative scenario's? Well if we'd won lots more games we might have been heading for the ****in CL!
He's tried it all ways man & still can't get it to work.

Putting Quinn's achievements in possibly saving the club, for which we are all truly grateful, into the history drawer he did preside over the signings in Keane's time where we gave inflated contracts to ordinary players to just keep us in the EPL. The inflated price we paid for Gordon and others showed we did not have good management skills or experience at the the top and the manageable debts were beyond Drumaville. Maybe ES reviewed the spending criteria when NQ was chairman and as a balance sheet reader he could see where our direction had been going wrong. Big money paid out by two managers over 5 years on the recommendation of a rookie chairman.

A nice man who deserves our thanks but it stops somewhere in the final analysis, which may indicate that his judgement was just as flawed as any other mans, especially when it led nowhere twice.

That's as maybe but now we're heading down the ****ter with this remarkable, astute man in charge with all the wonderful bargain signings he's made.

Of course it is with hindsight as history normally is. I was merely making the point that for all he was a smashing fellah with the club's best interests at heart his business dealings were not hard headed enough and he did not learn as he went along indicating he was possibly out of his depth.

As Jack Charlton said about Bobbie- "our kid is far too nice to be a manager" - as was borne out after his disastrous spell at PNE for 6 months.
