The footballers football show on Sky 1 at 8pm has the big man on. Might be interesting to hear his thoughts?

Give us a pitted version of any safc related banter please squire.

My pay check doesn't allow for the luxury of the sports channels.

    Cheers

No doubt only the "big 4" will be discussed.

Quinny talked briefly about trying to shift players off the wage bill who were surplus to requirements (no names, of course!... not that we need them) and how some were fine with playing for reserves

That gets right on my tits!

I would rather play 1st team football for a grand a week than play for somebody's reserves for 10 grand a week.

Surely that just takes away the whole point of your profession though? You should naturally want to compete at the highest level, some players don't have that drive.

I know if I was in a position to get payed for playing football, I'd do it at the highest possible level, regardless of what's on my pay cheque

You're the modern day footballer/fan then I suppose.

You are inciting you would play the game for money. Me? I have always played for success and trophies and would always do so.

You say that but I would bet my house that if you are being paid your said wage and your boss said you can be getting the same money but you have to do a lesser job - you would say OK. This is what they are doing and if my boss said to me, right you now have to do the same job but with a 90% pay cut I'd tell him to FO, as would you.

Some people on here don't even think before they speak. Nothing personal toward you but you are talking crap. There is no way you would take a 9k pay cut per week to play first time football.

We all know money is the route of all evil.

Please don't take this personal... I'm just using your point to highlight that it is all about money and not football anymore and the soon all fans realise this the better and easier it will be for them to understand the modern game.

Totally agree with this point - BUT - if we were talking about the difference between £20k a week and £30k a week I would rather play first team football for £20k a week - if we are talking the difference between £20k a year (approx my current wage) and £30k a year then the difference is a much bigger impact on my life so I'd have to go with £30k a year.

Nobody "Needs" an extra £1m a year when you earn over £1m a year
