Worst decision ever to get rid. Two of them only played two thirds of the season due to injuries. The other 35 games. All 3 over 30 on 3 year deals with no future value to their clubs. While we have a 22 year old RB worth double what we paid and the skys the limit for him. Played over 40 league games for us. A kid who's gone right through the divisions and worth double what we paid for him. Still only 25 and played over 40 league games for us. A cult hero CB. Who is going to go on and establish himself in the PL hopefully. Or again worth double what we paid if we cash in. That Steve Bruce eh. Must be a lucky manager as he cant be any good can he??
I wonder how rosy felt watching us on Saturday? I don't suppose he could publicly congratulate us with B&H missing out?
I'd still have kept Rosenior though, if possible There was times during the season when I'm pretty sure he would have played Turned out nice though
Odubajo played over 40 league games as did Robbo. So you'd give a 3 year deal on top money to a bloke who would make 6 or 7 appearances and then demand he be taken on as a coach. ****ing hell.
Rosey should've stayed, would have offered cover at left back which was sorely needed when robbo looked ****ed this year, also a much better option at RB than elmo.
They are also both 22 and both were probably our most important players if you look at the mom voting.
I don't want start a thread and this looks the best place to put this... How much would you ask for Dave? I'll go first. £15m.
Yedlin is going to cost Sunderland £2 mill by all accounts and Dave is not worth £13 more than Yedlin.
I have absolutely no idea of the internal goings on, but I know someone that was looking at houses in the area, and they told me about Rosy's house being for sale before I'd heard anything about him going. It could be me being late with the news, and it could be he already knew his fate, but maybe it wasn't the club's decision.
Maybe wasn't. There's lots more to whether you keep or let go players, than what we see on the pitch But he would have still been useful for us this season if he could have been retained for the right price ( and the right contract length) Seemed a thoroughly nice chap too, good ambassador for the club Anyway maybe he was just moving in with his Nanna?
Definitely should've kept Rosey. I've maintained for ages we should've had Moses at RM/RW and Rosey at RB. Of course, Moses is ace at RB, but he'd be equally as good at RM/RW. Really, it was a win-win for us looking back regardless. The others, as much as I loved them, we haven't really missed. Harry appears to be becoming the cult figure Macca was, and players like Clucas, Meyler and Snoddy fill that Quinn role.
I have no idea why he moved, but could probably find out, but won't. I agree he'd be an asset. He was interviewed after his recent game and still came across very well. I remember one of his early interviews with is, where he was comenting on his experience, and mentioned his mistake in thinking he'd made it when he got to the Prem with a previous club, when he should have kept his focus, and upped his effort. Not doing that knocked his career backwards, so he was determined to learn and apply himself. It would be a great message for some of the current squad.
or Diomande - injured when we bought him - started 3 league games - or Powell - injury prone - total waste of a loan spot - started 0 league games - or Maloney - started 8 league games - or Junior - sick note - given 2 to 3 year Prem contract but only started 9 games in the Championship - total waste - Taylor - started once - another total waste - Hayden - much better than Meyler but only started 8 games compared to Meyler who started 20 games - so if you're going to assess Brucie, its easy to cherry pick a couple of successes whilst conveniently missing out half a dozen duds
Robbo lives in Rosy's old house. Not a bad drum for a lad in his early 20's. About £850,000 worth I think.
Robbo doesn't live in the one Rosy was in just before they announced he was leaving. It's possible he rented temporarily after he sold, and that's the one Robbo's in.
