I note, no sign of Sparkey on here...I wonder if those fake M & S vouchers came back to bite his arse!
I'm here Mr. - just waiting to say I told you so when Bent signs....... OK then Tonto, here goes. When are we next going to win a game by more than 1 goal? Apart from the drubbing of Blackburn up there, you have to go back to October last year for another one - that was the Burnley demolition at the CCS. Every game we've won since has been by a single goal. It isn't doing my bowels any good at all. On the other hand, I'm saving a fortune on laxatives.
Bent to sign....hmmmmm! There's something about the name Bent that concerns me. Often I feel emotionally raped when I hear it. It could be those adventures of one Ben Dover I used to watch. Yes single goal wins, quite amazing how many we've won, is it me, or is it safe to suggest that we are not that convincing this season, despite our position. Could it be that it is a poor league despite all the big guns?

We managed a shaky 1 - 0 win against Huddefield the first game of the season when Huds scored in the 94th minute. You cannot compare that to our recent 1-0 wins. Wen you score in the 25th minute and win 1-0 thats not a scrape through, that is a demonstration of bossing the game. And if we keep doing it we will be Champions
That's a valid approach Snaggs - Revie's Leeds were the "1-0 Champions" in their time and it didn't do them any harm (other than reputation). The problem with odd goal wins, whilst worth the same 3 points in the table as a 6-0 drubbing, is that a single error at your end can lead to conceding a goal and lose you 2 of those points. I'd be extremely happy to win the rest of our games 1-0, but sometimes pushing on with the ability to get a second or third goal cushion can make life a lot easier instead of ****ting yourself in the stands screaming at the referee to blow the whistle.
1 - 0 to the Ar5ena1 was also a popular chant amongst Gooners for a very good reason. Didn't do them any harm either. If you think of it, some of our recent 1 - 0's we have closed games out in the second half without too much trouble. However, it would be nice to ease our nerves (and Sparkey's bowels) if we threw in a few 3 or 4 nils, say, every 3 games or so. Chance to get some fringe players on as sub as well. That won't do any harm in the long run as they may well be needed from the start if we get injuries/suspensions.
Another benefit of scoring more than one goal a game is other teams are more likely to be wary of a team banging in more goals. If we are 1-0 up the other team knows it can pull at least one back and maybe sneak a win. However, if our reputation was that of a free scoring team then the opponents are more likely to be more defensive against us. This in turn will make us more atack minded and may open our defence line and allow the opponents in..... Oh dear, my head hurts, whimper, whimper, may go for a lie down. Who'd be a football manager heh!
