We've all read the goings-on regarding Suarez and Evra over the last few weeks and we all have an opinion. I'm sure articles about this topic have been done to death already but my question is - Does anyone think Liverpool would have handled this scenario differently, had it not happened against Manchester United? (I had this question put to me and I think they would have handled it the same way).
Interesting question Tucker. I don't think they'd have handled it in any significantly different way with regards to contesting the charge, the legal arguments etc. But I think if it'd been a player from a different club they wouldn't have made as many ad hominem attacks as they did on Evra. I reckon they felt that as it was a high profile Utd player they could get away with questioning his credibility and motives, whilst had it been a relatively unknown player who was the victim they would have been wary of criticising them. But then again it could be that they felt it was fine to go after Evra following his comments to the media and his past "record".
Swarbs I agree. Evra's past 'record' was always going to be a contentious point in a scenario like this, no matter who it was against. I certainly feel like some of their fans have had a stronger reaction because it happened against Manchester United though and i'm interested to see what the crowds reaction is for Evra when he returns to play at Anfield.
Yet aanother thread on the United board re another club, F F sake. Geta fkn life, I am bored at work but even this is too much. No matter what club this happened with the result would be the same, whether Evra has baggage or not is another matter and regardless of what misguided Swarbs thinks, it is Evra's past and not liverpool than generated the comments against him, that and he is lying through his teeth as well. Evra threatened Suarez with violence and refered to his sister? Both comments I would have battered him for in front of everyone, I care not about who's lookin on if someone abuses me, knocked the fk out!, I jsut find it fkn odd that not one manc has given any thought to the fact of Language differences and the fact that Suarez does not speak spanish in the way Evra reported him to say, so it is not plausable nor probable. Either way United fans have acted a certain way Liverpool fans another way, to be going on about how either side acted is just bollox when one is as bad as teh other, but lets ignore facts.
When he goes to anfield, they will probably throw bananas at him, then afterwards claim it was to promote a healthier diet amoungst the general public
