If the race in Canada starts wet, will the top teams need to run on the super-soft tyre for the start, if that is true it should be quite fascinating. Also, P11 and lower get to choose their tyres, lol, that should turn the tables, at least for the first lap :p

So are the top 10 racers allowed to choose their tyres in wet condition because in the dry they aren't?

In wet conditions, the 2 tyre compound rule is not applicable, and you can start on any tyres once the race is declared wet.

The rule about starting on Q3 tyres only applies if the track is dry - the teams will be able to start on wet or inters here.

For safety reasons, they cannot be made to start on dry tyres her.e All of the top 10 would either got slaughtered off the line/crashed into off the line, or crash as soon as thy see a corner

Cheers, I guess all wets should be the option rather than intermediates.

McLaren are looking good with their setup.

Depends what they all feel, probably start no wets, then move onto inters if the track clears up. If the Mclarens are that slow down the straights, they'll get mugged. Lewis wasn't confident on straight line speed. They have to hope they've got a better downforce level for the few corners that are in Canada

In theory yes, but McLaren's advantage is likely to be small and they still have a few obstacles in their way, especially Button - who will definitely get held up by Rosberg's Mercedes - which has horrible race pace.

McLaren will be hoping the race does not start under the safety car, so Hamilton can try and jump Webber and Button to Rosberg.

Indeed, we want it to be non safety car too, otherwise Vettel will be able to get himself sufficient bumper to stop our superior top speed due to better engine and KERS package.

First race. Has been used for total of 10 laps in pre season testing at Barcelona, and a couple of guys used it in FP1 in Turkey
