I know you guys are probably feeling sick/sad/despondent/plain bloody furious * (delete as applicable) What were your hopes at the beginning of the season? Did you think you would go up automatically? Did you think you would make the play offs? Would you just have been pleased to consolidate? ************* As the season progressed, did your hopes change, or your fears even? Genuinely interested. I have been expecting our (Norwich) relegation for some time, although I always hoped we might make that great escape. I am a realist when it comes to supporting Norwich, but I am also bloody annoyed at the way they seemed to just cave in because they are 'little norwich', or more likely, they are overpaid prima donnas who think they are better than they actually are. -------Sorry, I digress. We will probably lose some of our players, and therefore be weaker in the championship next year. Will we stand a better chance of getting out of the Championship? If our board stays as it is, then I fear we will get out of the Championship, but through the trap door at the bottom. Who do you blame, if anybody, for falling out of the play offs?
Resurgam - You've asked some very good questions there and unfortunately some of which I'm not sure many of us will have the answers too. To start off I personally was quietly confident about our chances this season. Last year after Edinburgh took over our form was good enough for the play offs. We invested well and made some good additions which all except one have worked out. After seeing the first game against Sheffield United where we won 4-0 I think our expectations immediately grew tenfold. Spending 95% of the season in the top 6 shows that's where we probably should have finished but a poor run of form since February has cost us dearly. It's hard to pinpoint what started it, you could say it was down to some injuries but we didn't lose much when those keep players weren't fit. Some games we got tactically wrong and I'm sure Edinburgh will take some of the blame for. Quite often we were over reliant on Dack and once teams doubled up on him, it looked like we often ran out of ideas. Also having a smaller squad this year sometimes proved to be more of a problem due to lack of strength in depth. Sadly our season has fizzled out due to a number of reasons but I thinks it's difficult to blame just one reason. I'm sure they will learn from this and hopefully come back stronger next season.
Where does the buck stop? 2 wins in three months? even Colchester managed better than that!!!! Yep.......angry, let down etc. Either the manager lost the plot or the team just did not have the bottle for a scrap. So different up to the New Year......why, just why????
What were your hopes at the beginning of the season? Pushing outside for play-offs Did you think you would go up automatically? Pre-Season No Did you think you would make the play offs? Pre-Season, outside chance Would you just have been pleased to consolidate? Yes ************* As the season progressed, did your hopes change? Yes, I was amazed at our early season progress Who do you blame, if anybody, for falling out of the play offs? JE AND Scally, now there's a story, I ain't yet digressed
As I've said...the buck stops with the manager. If Ade Pinnock gets sacked for bringing success to Forest Green, the JE should be hung drawn and quartered. However...that is over reaction. We all need to sit down on some bean bags and discuss this.....oh bum. I'm P'd off. AAAAAaaaaaargh! where did it all go so wrong?
Before season started been happy to finish top half. Never thought we would finish top two even with good start. Always expected play offs up until last 3 games
