One thing struck me today as it has before and that is how totally gutted so called fans get when the prem side they follow loses. Take Manu fans (sorry Plym just an example) when they lose it seriously messes up (being polite) their day, you can't mention the match to them for fear of getting your head bit off. Now we Argyle fans are imune to this to a certain extent as we are so used to our side losing we can't let it get us down to the same degree or we would seriously top ourselves - basically because we are always in the ****, it's only the depth that varies. This is one example (and there are many) of how prem fans piss me off. Now for the question: What seriously pisses you off about Prem sides and/or their fans? I'm sure each of you (like myself) have more than one thing to list but if you can just list one each (for now) the one that pisses you off the most. Thanks in advance.
1) The fact that, at least within the very top teams, many of the so called "fans" have no real connection with the city concerned, they are just band-wagon jumpers, some of whom travel hundreds of miles to follow their adopted team. You only have to read the banners at many games to confirm this. We may have fans living all over the country but 99% have roots in & around Plymouth. 2) That most of them seem to think their clubs are more important than the England team - let alone the poor old Irish, Scots & Welsh, who struggle to get any players released for internationals.
That's two notdistant. I knew your maths was terrible......... The number one reason above is what pisses everyone off the most I think. How can you live in Kent and never having lived in Manchester or near it support Man U. There are teams I have admired for their footballing prowess and play in the top division but support them? It just can't happen. I was born and bred in Plymouth and returned here after my Naval time. I simply could not support anyone else and always looked for Argyle's result first even at sea when the signal came in with the results on it. Having had my main gripe already nicked I would have to say my second one would be the merchandise they sell in other Cities they have no connection with to encourage kids to buy and wear their shirts hundreds of miles away from the ground. When I see people walking around Plymouth with foreign shirts on I do sometimes feel like having a pop at them although if I did I would spend a lot of time in the City Centre fighting and I'm a bit old for that now.
I think it is wrong for any English league club to play more than five foreign players at one time......whatever division..........UK players just don't get the exposure to first team football and do not develop......unless you are better than foreign imports to start with..........so English,Scottish,Welsh and N Ireland players first.
Do not blame the plastics.. blame the parents for not bringing them up proper!!! As for genuine Prem fans their total disregard for the lower leagues is probably my biggest bugbear. The biggest flower is supported by a stem.
That's almost poetry mexijan. You'll be doing folk singing next. Lets face it the entire lot of them just piss you off for just about everything you can think of. Some of them are so far up their rear ends as it is possible to be. They don't care about the rest. When you think that Rooney or Tevez's wages for a year would run the entire team and everything connected to a club and leave money over then there is something critically wrong in this world. Don't blame the players for taking the cash but I do blame clubs for offering it to them in the first place. Average prem club with say 30 players. One earning £250k a week. What is the annual wage bill? £150m? How the feck can teams coming up ever compete with that.
