Do you care if the club lowers prices to draw in bigger attendances? There seems to have been a bit of a backlash on the clubs Facebook page at them offering discounted tickets. I just find this ridiculous. Bigger attendances can only lead to better things, I don't care if I don't get any benefit out of this personally. Do I stand alone in that opinion?
I don't have a pass any more, but when I did it never bothered me about discounted tickets. The discount from buying a season ticket should always represent best value for money. Besides, can't the club only offer ticket discount to four games per season?
Real rewards would be preferred though. EG, as i have no wish to wear over-priced replica shirts, i dont need free printing on the back thanks. I also don't need free face-paint and foam hands thanks.
one of the benefits i find i ve always 'enjoyed' from my pass is not having to bugger about getting to the ground during the week to buy tickets, etc. also having the last minute choice to attend, or not, on occasions. the pass is not just about discounts. it's also about choice and convenience
Not in the least. My east stand pass works out at £17 a game. I don't want people having to fork out £28 just because they could'nt afford to get a season pass. Anyway, all those empty seats are no good to anyone.
Need to get the west side of the North stand filled with school kids. They provided a great atmosphere when last in there. Seeing that north stand almost empty, with only 100 away supporters and stewards is such a waste.
I don't mind if they give out free tickets for matches never mind discounts. If the club wants to attract investment in the future we need more attending , even if the revenue stream is not increased. The reward for card ho Ders is easy, same seat. If we can add 3k to the average gate by Christmas, I would be happy.
No , do some deals and get the KC full and rocking , what a pity to play great football and have 10,000 empty seats I think the Allams overdid it with the price increases
I have zero problem with them doing it. The benefit of the pass is more than just the cost, I get to choose who I sit with each week for starters. The obvious danger is that people come to rely on them rather than passes, but I doubt the club can make that many offers even if they wanted to. Local football teams and schools would be my priority because you end up with a gang of mates with limited supervision, so they tend to be up for a laugh and it builds for the future.
This is a very good point, if you can encourage a group of young males to go together this will only be good for the atmosphere. I'm 22 and I still go with the old man I suspect a lot of people are the same.
I agree. My matchday experience is improved if we have a larger, crowd. I have no problem with giving discounts especially for less attractive games such as Posh and mid week games that some cannot attend due to work commitments. Its noticable from my seat in E7 that the West stand has many more empty seats this season. Family area moved but even so the centre and lower sections are also emptier. A lot has been said about incresed prices this season and yes times are hard so I agree its tough and some fans cant afford a pass and are picking their games. Its worth remembering though we have not had a price rise for several years. My East Stand pass cost me £360 8 years ago and the only price change was a reduction to £350 one season. Both prem seasons were £360. I paid £395 this season. Work that against RPI over the period and its not a massive increase. Living out of Hull I also enjoy the convenience, same seat, same crowd sitting around me year after year all worth paying for and a big benefit. I say the more the merrier, any sales boost income which is being spent on team wages etc so I'm fully behind any initiative that gets seats filled!. Discounts in the main stands freebies if necessary in the North Stand. I loved watching the kids goading the Burnley fans last season. A mate is a Claret and was there he said they hated it... bring it on!
could i point out that the questions Poll: Should the club continue to lower ticket prices and offer discounted deals? and Do you care if the club lowers prices to draw in bigger attendances? are entirely different.
As long as they all have to wear a pink bib just to show they are all inferior to us season ticket holders, and possibly have a different line to queue in like the free school dinner line.
Although I haven't got a pass for this season, an effort to try and boost attendances has to be applauded. Would pass holders rather sit in a crowd of 15,000 or have an extra 5,000 people join them in cheering the team on?
i queued in the same line as everyone else for my free school dinner. i also was allowed on the same bus as paying passengers with my free bus pass. (gets bike, clogs and Hovis loaf and walks down th'ill)
I am a season passholder living in the south of France. Last season I only got to 10 home games. Therefore over the season a home game for me averages out at a higher cost. I am happy with that. The club has my money in the bank. I would love to see the KC full for every game. If it means 'pay on the day' is reduced to achieve a full stadium then so be it. People nowadays are financially stretched so fair play to the club for reducing prices imo.
