Is it possible to walk along the Thames, all the way past the Houses of Parliament? Or would one have to leave the river and go around the Palace? Thanks
You can't walk along the river the same side as the Houses of Parliament, you might be able to walk on the other side of the river, not sure. Parliament Square will give you the best view.
The MP's have their little jollies on the banks outside the palace, but no access to commoners! But there is pretty much access to walk along the entire river, especially the south bank which usually has a festival or two going on.
If you go to St Paul's and cross the wibbly-wobbly bridge, there's a pleasant walk along the South Bank to Westminster.
You can walk along the South Bank by St Thomas' Hospital, the view is very good, and a bit further east you get to the London Eye and the National Theatre.
If you're from the UK, you can write to your MP and arrange a tour of the Palace. It's free, worth doing and they're normally happy to oblige.
When you finish off your walk head to the north side of Waterloo bridge for the best view of all in town, especially just after sunset...
Yes. Well it was when I was last there in 1066 think it was. If it's not now I'll send that passport back.
