Question: Does anybody feel changing to a Summer season would be better

    Maybe March to November or something like that. Weather would be better, lighter evenings etc. Thougths?

    Not really. I would love it to be a bit shorter though, September to end April.

    They have done that in Ireland, perhaps some of the Irish R's can comment. Personally, I think football is a winter sport so, as Uber says, 'If it ain't broke'...

    The MLS season in US/Canada runs from March-October, but I think there are fewer teams there than the English Football Leagues. Our season is ten months long (August-May) compared to theirs at eight months.

    World Cup and Euros make this unfeasible however good an idea it is.

    our season kicks off on march 7th. my local team (Waterford utd) play their home games on friday nights. by all accounts I think it's been a success.
    I have heard they are considering changing it back to the normal months though.

    as it's rare that any league of Ireland players get picked for the national team it's not a prob for us.

    Not really feasible, but it would make getting to games a lot easier for me (during the summer months). Wtf would people do on Boxing Day?
