http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-e...nt-make-me-dance-im-not-a-monkey-8446660.html Heres a link, looking forward to watching!
What happened? I always thought he was a tosser, but I like his films(apart from that Death Proof ****e).
Just read the transcript, if you go by that then Tarantino is in the right here- the interviewer is trying to push an agenda about violence.
The interviewer does come across as a bit of a twat on that transcript, though I'd prefer to actually see it. I'm sure it will be available somewhere before long.
it's not what he said - i don't have any problem with people not wanting to discuss topics - it's the way he said it. talk about prima donna.
Thought he came across as someone who'd been asked the same question over and over. 'If you want to know the answer 'google' it, my view on violence hasn't changed for twenty years'.' This is an advert for my new film and nothing more'. He should have been told that channel4 news tends to be a bit more serious than that. Oddly, I was really looking forward to seeing the film and now I'm not that fussed.
The transcripts on the link, shame he ruined a good point with his hissy fit as X says. Without all his films in the last 20 years the world would be a much shabbier place, who would want to watch a sanitised version of Pulp Fiction. Maybe if he kept his cool he could have put the no-mark journo in his place.
I like his films, don't get me wrong, but if he's going to churn out ultra violent films time after time after time he shouldn't get his arse out about it when he's questioned about the links between cinema and violence and then refusing to back anything up. Sounds a bit like he's on his period?
Bar that Deathproof/Planet Terror double-movie ****e, all of Tarantino's films are fantastic. My personal favorite is Inglorious Basterds. Ps. That new film, Django Unchained, is pretty good.
There's always some twat who whinges at his films- whether it';s the violence in it, or the fact someone's calling him a racist for the over use of words like "******" etc etc. Bet that gets annoying after a while.
The most interesting thing the interviewer exposed is his patronising disrespect for his fans. By saying "This is a commercial for my movie." he's admitting that the interview isn't about communicating with the people who pay to see the film, but the money he gets from them. Ok we all knew that but it's refreshing that KGM forced it out of him.
