When QPR walk out to face Newcastle on Monday week, the stadium announcer might be tempted to introduce them as Queens Park Strangers.

He could also save himself some oxygen by breaking with tradition to say: “And not making his QPR debut tonight…” .........................................

Was it the 2001 season we went down to the third tier and all our regular players had gone?

THAT was Queens Park Strangers! I remember sitting there chatting to the fans around me, with us all going 'who's that?' every time someone touched the ball! Palmer, Thompson, Forbes, Bignott... who's that? No one had heard of them!

Not the case this time is it! We well know Bothroyd, DJ, Gabbidon, Barton, Young, Traore... even Puncheon.

Queens Park Dangers is what we should be calling this lot. Prem beware!

Wards was hilarious , could not string a pass together but went on that amazing goal scoring spree .

Steiner was the one for me , the swedish fella, truely shocking.

I dont think you can include Chris Day in that list he was brilliant!!! All could be forgiven solely down to his last minute save against Oldham following Furlongs goal.

Leroy was my guy Woody. Was running a works team and someone introduced Leroy. Played for us for a season. Amazing skills. Amazing shot. Very fast. Arrogant twit though... body of an athlete, brain of a commentor. Couldn't shut up when dribbling round oponents!

Called the club and put them in touch with Leroy though, he was that good. Trouble was - same old, same old. Couldn't shut up and pissed our captain Steve Palmer right off. No one would pass to Leroy in the end. Nutter! Loved the game though.

Chris Day wasn't a bad keeper, and Jerome Thomas is at WBA. Forbes was the nightmare player for me.........his first name should have ben Terrible!! Wardley was........unbelievable. Control, passing , trapping...rubbish....but he knew how to find the net in his debut season. I sometimes reckon Dave has looked at him and thought...if I can play completely pants I should at least be able to score....and apart from when he initially signed (and we were warned about this) he couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo

Was sat in row 4 of the Ellerslie Road that day, right in line behind the shot, and had a glorious view of it flying in - a clear goal from the moment it left his boot. Turned to the Chelski friends alongside me and they didn't look so happy!

Yeah, great stuff indeed... and Leroy wouldn't shut up about that either! Weeks telling us how he bent up Desailly before that shot. Had to admit it WAS brilliant.
