We can rant and rave and be angry - angry enough to burst a blood vessel yesterday - BUT the injustice evens out over the course of the season. Even the mighty Man U were denied a pretty clear penalty yesterday. Their response was to score more then their opponents. Last season, the Bolton injustice helped to kick start our efforts for survival - perhaps the same will happen this time. My head tells me we are down already but my heart is holding on to a modicum of hope. I'm not mad at Foy (stripped of his knighthood awarded after the Chelsea game last season) but his assistants, both of whom bottled important decisions. The foul on Green I can almost forgive since there was a lot of activity in the box and the lino cannot see everything. There is NO EXCUSE for not awarding the penalty. That lino had two players and a ball to watch. Not good enough - shame on you, you miserable excuse for an official.
Until yesterday, I was convinced that Redknapp would keep you up. I must admit that now seems unlikely. All is not lost however. With Redknapp as your manager and the January transfer window just a few days away - If you buy quickly and buy well, I still think you have a chance.
Hi Uber, I was ignoring yet more sloppy journalism though I was not sure if that was a play on the Baggies having the officials in the bag as their third goal!!
Couple of poor decisions yesterday RTID, but in my opinion no injustice in the result. We were poor, they were dull and professional.
I do have a nagging concern that Harold may have overdone it with his criticisms in the last 7 days. It cannot have helped that talking about not buying anyone at all has now changed to bringing in 5 or 6 in a couple of days time. We did not seem to play with much heart or desire. The trouble with pampered professionals is that it takes a few kind words to get them playing and one perceived criticsm from the new gaffer to get them back into the bad old ways.
Hi 73. I felt we were good for the draw, especially considering their second 'goal'. We threw the kitchen sink at them in last 15mins (when they were not time wasting).
I would go along with that. It's a tricky January for QPR but after that there is a decent run of fixtures. Hopefully come February the new signings will have adjusted well and the team can kick on. The games against the likes of Tottenham, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea etc take care of themselves. No player worth his salt can't get up for those kind of games, it's what these players have dreamt of since they were kids, that applies to some of the (allegedly) disenchanted players as well. The important thing is to have a settled squad when the likes of Reading, Southampton, Villa etc come around. If that happens I rate your chances of survival as 50/50. There is still plenty of hope yet, teams are having to work much harder to beat QPR. Same cannot be said for Southampton, Reading and Villa
Thank heavens for kindly neighbours. Reading the posts on here recently is enough to make you weep with despair. How refreshing to see that others share my view that it is still very possible. The sheep will all come back when we win for the second time. Then they'll be predicting a mid-table finish. It's all getting a bit tedious this gloom and despair. Mistakes have been made for sure but you only have to remember where we were a few years ago to see that actually it aint that bad. Next time, whether that is in another ten years or after escaping on the last day of the season (again) perhaps we can learn the lessons of the delusions of grandeur.
