Completely agree with the point you made about our full backs. Redknapp knew we needed to add another dimension to our attacking play and he's done so by bringing in Assou-Ekotto. We already have two top draw Strikers in Austin and AJ and now they'll have some proper service. I expect Austin to get off the mark soon and not stop. 20 goals the aim. In Tom Carroll I think we now have the most talented central midfielder in the league, and Hoillet and Phillips on the wings will trouble most sides at this level. Kranjcar will be phased in once he retains his match fitness and his ability in the final third will be particularly useful at home. Really optimistic about this team, and I hope we push on and create a gap between us and the rest of the league. I wouldn't rule out some further departures and arrivals on short term loans either. I feel Baird will sign soon as well.
Try as you might......this board is subject to more mood swings than a menopausal bipolar sufferer on crystal meth. On paper we should be promoted. In practice this is QPR.
Last season I was hugely underwhelmed by Harold as he seemed to make very little effort in trying to keep us in the Prem, but credit where credit is due this time he has gone out and got "proper" players that should do the job and get us promoted......I hate to use the gelling phrase but at least we have 2 weeks before the Brum game for the new lads to settle in and understand the requirements for this league.....we have a really good squad, a team that can look after the ball, retain possession and now create the chances for the front players.....these are exciting times and hopefully we will show just how good we can be when we play Brum...... Got to agree with that - it was key to keep hold of Barton and Hoillet, AJ too when there was no incoming striker. We definetely need another striker or two, and an astute, quick CB.
