I watched 'The Met' tonight for the first time - definitely better telly than watching England's 1,000th kickabout.

The program made pretty grim viewing. I need my faith in humanity restored now.
Two scumbags beat a man to death in Trafalgar square.
The really brave one who kicks him in the guts while he's laying on the ground dying gets a SUSPENDED sentence (only 3 months anyway) because he was such a nice lad who's never been in trouble before etc. etc. :emoticon-0119-puke:

He wasn't a nice enough lad to give himself up though, was he.
The cops had to track him down and arrest him at his home in front of his doting mum.
She must have been very proud of him.

I'll have to watch some light entertainment on DVD now, just to calm down.

I've got in-laws in Isles of Scilly. When one of them had her bicycle nicked it was a major crime.

Whoever passed that sentence needs locking up.

The sentences for some of these evil sons of bitches are laughable.

How can somebody not get a custodial sentence for kicking a dying man full force in the guts as he's laying on the ground bleeding from a head wound.
What level of violence do you have to show to get locked up?

Even the bloke who killed him with one punch only got about 3 and a half years. He's probably getting out again in a few months, And that after the police had to track him halfway around the world, at the cost of hundreds of hours of their time and God alone knows how much money.
Going on the run like that when you know you've killed somebody should add 5 years to your sentence automatically, regardless of acting all meek and pleading guilty when the rozzers finally catch you.

When it comes to violent criminals, all this crap about halving sentences for 'good behaviour' should be ended.
Prisoners should be told that if they don't behave, the court sentence will be extended for 6 months per infringement. And that additional time will be served without any privileges (no frigging X-Box) and in solitary, if they make more trouble.

I don't know how police men and women motivate themselves to go to work each day, knowing the violent scum they risk their lives to arrest, will probably walk free from court later even if convicted, and have a good laugh at their expense.

    Edit:

Two foreign scumbags beat a British man to death in Trafalgar Square.

When arrested, one of them lived with his mum in a council flat :emoticon-0148-yes:

London is storing up huge problems for itself because of the human detritus we have allowed in.

Yes, I recall the killer was a Brazilian, in the UK on an Italian (EU) passport.
I don't suppose he'll be deported when he's done his few months inside.

Certainly won't if Corbyn gets his way.

I thought watching Fare Dodgers was enough to spit feathers, let alone The Met you've all been discussing. I may need to take a handful of Mogadons before even attempting to watch it.

Which channel is that on Ponders ?

I once went to a Northern away game with a very short fare dodger.

He hid in the toilets when the ticket inspectors came ...but was still caught & hit with a hefty penalty fare :emoticon-0148-yes:

Channel 5. You can get it on Catch Up.

It would appear many of our foreign cousins have trouble reading/understanding the rules. :headbang:

I was back at Charing Cross late last night. There must have been 50 young Romanian / Romany men standing around outside the station, pestering theatre goers & working people. Incredible.

    Madness.

What were the Old Bill doing about it? Nothing, I suppose.

It's such a shame as there are many hardworking Romanians in this country, yet these creatures you mention give them all a bad name.

I was on the jury which found a man guilty of manslaughter under the law of joint enterprise. He was nowhere near the crime, but had played a tiny part of surveillance earlier in the original robbery, which ended with the owner of the business being run over by a passing lorry. He got 4.5 years, so to see this guy get a much smaller sentence for a deliberate unprovoked assault of such ferocity was a miscarriage of justice.

Anyone not born in the UK should be kicked out if they commit a crime that gets a custodial sentence.

    No ifs or buts....out.

In the case I referred to the heavies were Lithuanian, the man on trial was Afghan, the brains behind the attempted robbery were Qatari and Pakistani. The unfortunate victim was Indian. Conspiracy to rob got 7 years, manslaughter 4.5 years to run consecutively.
The heavies all blamed each other for pushing the victim under the lorry, hence the Law of joint Enterprise was brought into play, otherwise they would have got off the manslaughter charge. The Afghan was a rather unfortunate victim of this law, but how else to you get justice for victims in a case like this? The Stephen Lawrence case was similar.

The simple answer ponders is more station staff and more ticket inspectors.
When going over to Charlton from chislehurst or Bickley to Kent house I might of seen 3 ticket inspectors.
    It really bugs me ,

The ticket checking machines are usually switched off too. Been from Orpington to Penge and back today, no checks, nor are there ever any at Charlton.

Yet in Poland you can't move for inspectors and staff. They don't take any ****e over there either. Any lip and the armed police are called out - no word of a lie.
