Good riddance. Perhaps we could get someone instead who just gives us the news and asks unbiased questions which ordinary members of the public want to hear the answers to.

Top class journalist, John Snow. A man of clear moral integrity, he will be missed by those who actually watch C4 News. I challenge anyone to produce a single shred of evidence of any political bias. A true professional, comparable to Andrew Neil in that respect.

We've also lost Andrew Neil from BBC and Andrew Marr. Laura Kuenssberg is also stepping down. IMO these are all top professionals, despite various claims that they are Lefties/Tories depending on where the claims come from. Paxman describes himself as "A one-nation Tory" but you'd never guess from his interviewing technique. It's a tough old job they do.

Just when I thought the conversation couldn’t go any lower, you mention Laura Kuenssberg. She is definitely in the same league as Sturgeon and Snow when it comes to being able to sneer and turn your nose up when confronted with ordinary people who don’t comply with your own views or values.

    I quite like Laura.
Wouldn't say she's great at her job, but I hadn't noticed her say anything I found particularly annoying.

No-one could beat Paxo's sneer, not even his Spitting Image puppet.

I watched No Time To Die on DVD yesterday.

I've liked all of Daniel Craig's Bond movies, but I'll admit the last two (Spectre and this one) have not been quite as good as the first three.
Watchable, slick, etc. But not quite as gritty and hard-hitting.
Casino Royale actually remains my favourite Craig Bond movie.

My main gripe with this latest movie was the 'mass shoot-out' scene about half way through.
Bond & barely dressed lady companion shoot around 50 bad guys in as many seconds.
Very slick, but way too stylised.
It reminded me strongly of the not very good shoot-outs in the Matrix sequels.

I know the money men had to get the film a 12 cirtificate in order to maximise the return, but I'm not a fan of computer-game style shoot-outs.
For a realistic shoot out scene watch near the end of Munich, the 2005 Spielberg movie about an Israeli hit team getting bloody revenge for the massacre of their athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972.

I appreciate though that making such scenes too realistic would go against the Bond fantasy philosophy.
But I did think they got a good healthy dose of knuckle-grazing, ball-busting realism into Casino Royale - which was never quite repeated again.

OK, the free running scene on the building site was too fantastic to be real.
But I thought it was excellently filmed, and it got my blood pumping a bit as I don't like heights at all.

Rewatched "Marvelous" last night, with Toby Jones playing the kit man at Stoke City. Cameo appearances by Lou Macari, Gary Lineker and Uriah Rennie help make it my favourite football film along with Mike Bassett.
