QPR's Julio Cesar hints at Flamengo return By Callum Fox 2013-01-01 12:00:00 Share on twitterShare on stumbleuponShare on gmailShare on emailShare on facebookMore Sharing Services1 Action Images QPR's Julio Cesar has hinted at a possible return to boyhood club Flamengo before he calls an end to his glittering career. Speaking to TV Globo, Cesar says his family have urged him to return to Brazil and to Flamengo, the club he started his career out. "I had this idea fixed in my mind of leaving Brazilian football. It was in the spur of the moment. I think I was very unhappy leaving. I still think about playing in Brazil, if I get the chance. Why not? "I was passionate about Inter, but passion is not the same as love. Passion is a fleeting thing. Love is a completely different thing. That`s how it is between me and Flamengo," he said. "My cousin went to the US before I became a professional with Flamengo. Now he is asking me to return to the club because he is a big fan." Cesar also still hangs onto the hope of being called up for the Seleção, having been dropped from the squad by former coach Mano Menezes. "I believe I can return. I dream of being world champion. When you have a dream, you should always chase it. I want to kiss that cup. It is the pinnacle of a career. If I have the strength to chase it, I will." Source: Odia
Mentioned on the TV the other day that he is on a hundred grand a week. Unbelievable. If this is true we simply can't afford this. He has to go.
Easy one to sell because he is good and not too old for a keeper. Depends on whether his wife has finished her shopping in Harrods yet I suppose.
Hasn't lost too much credibility either. Shame it leaves us with accident prone Green...I asked before...is Cerny still here...don't mean Secret either
Agents...... can't live with 'em and can't kill 'em. Well OK you can do both but you know what I mean........ He's obviously going to take a pay cut to play in his home country. But wow did we get shafted for our millions. Tony, you got taken to the cleaners mate
Fascinating that he does not even mention us. He was one who waxed lyrical about "the project". I agree with Nuts comment on another thread. If he is being paid the silly money that's being hinted at, I'd put him on the first plane back to Rio when it looks to be mathematically impossible to get out of this. Hopefully there are a few Brazilian billionaires out there.
