QPR winger Ephraim joins Charlton QPR winger Ephraim joins Charlton Wednesday, 09 November 2011 By Richard Cawley QPR winger Hogan Ephraim has joined Charlton on loan until January 3. The League One leaders have swooped for the 23-year-old, who has made just two appearances for the Premier League newcomers. Ephraim had interested Crystal Palace earlier in the season but the Eagles had not been able to offload fringe players to free up the fund to take him to Selhurst Park on a temporary basis. The Islington-born winger only made one appearance for West Ham United before joining QPR on loan at the start of the 2007-08 season but made the move permanent in an £800,000 deal in January. Ephraim scored three goals in 29 appearances last season to help QPR win the Championship title. For more reaction to the deal, don't miss Friday's South London Press. He's better off playing for a promotion chasing team in league one than a mid- to bottom club in the championship. Hopefully it puts him in the shop window as being included in the 25 after january seems pretty far away. Should have been in the squad instead of Puncheon though.
I suspect Puncheon will go back to Southampton in Jan. Sadly for Hogan, vacant places will be filled by new purchases.
I really like Ephraim and he hope he does well there. Easily good enough for the championship imo. If he could get down the gym and build himself up a bit he'd be a much better player. In his one contribution this season, at Everton, he played well.
