Junior Hoilett is eager to make a good first impression when he plays his first competitive game for Queens Park Rangers.

The 22-year-old signed a four year deal this summer after switching from relegated Blackburn Rovers and as the big Premier League kick-off at home to Swansea nears, the winger’s attention is turning towards showing the Loftus Road faithful what he is capable of.

“Everyone is looking forward to that first game and I am probably looking forward to it more than normal because I am at a new club and this is a new start for me,” he told the R’s website, adding: “It will be great to get out in front of the fans and show them what I can do. It’s an important game for me and for the club.”

The former Ewood Park idol made his debut in Rangers’ 1-1 draw against Trabzonspor in Germany at the weekend.

The R’s face one more friendly contest before the visit of Michael Laudrup’s Swans and they take on Budesliga side FC Augsburg at the SGL Arena in Augsburg on Saturday.

Hoilett said: “I am pleased we have another match before the season starts, it well help me to get ready for that opening game.”
