A few exciting games, a few good hidings, a few lucky wins - A very quick return to the Championship.

Based on the squad we have available this could turn out to be one of the funniest (we will laugh in time), if not enjoyable periods in our long history.

The bottom line is, if the owners were truely interested in taking the club forward then a significant amount of money would have been made available. To date, no money and just a ever increasing list of links to "lost causes".

Keep the faith, the journey will be rough (very rough) and some of us will not survive, but for those who do at least in time you will be able to look back and smile.

Sorry but you will have to explain this to me, I don't see a funny side to potential humiliation.

Only thing is that having watched two consecutive promotions followed by an immediate relegation from the top tier (66 - 69) on just 4 wins and 10 draws, I don't remember smiling much about the big downer in 40 odd years.

Sounds a bit like we're going 'over the top' straight into the machine-gun fire...

Why would I believe we can stay up without spending some serious dosh on decent players? Most people seem to agree that last season's championship winning team is not good enough to keep us in the Prem.
This team would stand a chance imo:
    Kenny
Noughton / Gorrks / decent CB / decent LB /
Derry or Bullard / Faulin /
Dyer / Tarrabt / Bothroyd or DJ /
    Crouch or Bothroyd

Not going to happen though is it?

First of all we've got to beat Derby's record of 11 points and one win. Then just try and pick up as many points as possible and prepare to consolidate in the Championship for 12/13.

In spite of our owners I still expect a NW team to make it difficult for the opposition so just hope we can sneak enough points to stay up - will be a long season though.

Why put ourselves through a season of inevitable humiliation and embarrassment? Why not, while there's still time approach the PL with a proposal that would suit everybody; after all, the PL wouldn't want that sort of slaughter sullying their good name.
We could offer them voluntary relegation on our terms, which would be
    1. The record books would show that we finished in 18th place( on GD)
    2. We would take no part in the football sham.
    3. As there would only be 2 relegation slots to fight over there would be no serious objections from contenders.
We could loan out the bulk of our squad (sadly not everybody will find a good home) and we would have a whole year to plan our 2013 championship campaign.
Just think about it; no laughing stock on MOTD with sniggering Lawro and the gang, and we could watch repeats of our glorious campaigns of old and prepare ourselves for the times ahead. We might even have a new sponsor and a new kit by then and dare I hope it new owners; anyone will do.

    Twins... be-have!

As for the best we can HOPE for at this stage? Still Premiership title and two cups like every other prem team. Fact is every last one of us will be HOPING for a victory every time we play a match. If by some freak of nature our HOPES were realised, sky's the limit.

Swords (of all people - no offence mate!) put me on a right positive earlier this afternoon, when after reading about the spirit in Warnock's camp atm what with players who looked to be on the way out suddenly realising their big chance has come, he likened our situation to that of Wimbledon as the 'crazy gang' was getting started.

Could be that with Warnock and a squad of desperados, surprises and upsets for the knobs could yet be the order of the day... Could also be the expected damp squib, we'll just have to wait and see. Fact is, if you don't expect anything you can't be disappointed can you?

Certainly the Wimbledon story came with a series of managers in the Warnock mold... all we need is a nutty chairman who's into a bit of fun like Sam Hamamm. Chance would be a fine thing!

(Maybe wubba's optimism is starting to get to me!)

Although our current owners have not opened the coffers and given Mr Warnock some money to spend on transfers we have to look at why not, are they tight or what, just show the supporters that you are prepared to stay in the premier league for more than a solitary season. I think that the majority of the players from the championship winning side will be given a chance. I would not like to be a fan of wigan athletic themselves and blackburn could find themselves fighting relegation, but I have faith in QPR and we can stay up, but only if we can keep Adel and make a few decent additions in defence.

    Keep the faith uuuurrrrs.

This is not what I'm hoping for, but this is what I'm going to do.
I'm just going to support the manager, his players and his coaching staff all the way through till survival is assured, and if by some miracle we are not better than 3 other teams, then I'm prepared to take all the flak you can throw.
    Enjoy the season fellas.

With you all the way Twins... reckon we all are cos end of the day we have to support who and whatever wearing the hoops!

That doesn't mean we have to respect these owners though.
