Queens Park Rangers are tracking Dundee United star Stuart Armstrong.

The Scotland under-21 international was watched at Tannadice on Saturday by a Loftus Road scout, and he will have left Tayside with a glowing report for manager Harry Redknapp.

Armstrong produced arguably his best performance of the season in the 5-1 rout of Motherwell, scoring one and helping set-up others.

Team-mate Ryan Dow knows that United will have a fight on their hands to keep Armstrong at the club beyond the summer.

He said: “Stuart is a brilliant player and I’m sure there will be a number of clubs interested in him. Hopefully he can stay with us. There will always be clubs sniffing around him, though, as he’s such a good player.”

Unless I'm blind, it doesn't mention what position he plays?

Weren't we also watching St. Johnstone's Stevie May earlier in the season?

Don't know this exact player but I really like the link. Dundee United is the best talent factory in Scotland, maybe even in the whole of UK. Probably a decent player and worth a shot.

And then sell him on to Stoke in 3 years time having failed to actually play him in the first team

    Cynical? Moi?

They may get paid better wages with us, before going out on loan and then sold
