Seen a bit of moaning about Smyth online but I thought he did quite well. The only threat at times with not a lot of help for Forrest Gump.

I agree that Smyth seemed to panic WBA with his pace, hence why they fouled him so often (not that the ref seemed to notice). I generally like him as a player, despite the common complaint of lack of end product which was evident again yesterday. However, he wasn't always synchronised with his teammates' press and was out of position at times (e.g. failing to stop the cross for their first goal) and, when he made a breakthrough, he often seemed to lose control of the ball. Just below from my seat, Cifuentes had a real go at him (and Paal) a couple of times. For me, it was a real curate's egg of a performance.
