They've drawn two, won two and lost one of their last five. Their top scorer is Karlan Grant, with nine, followed by Callum Robinson with six, then ex-Ranger Matt Phillips with three. They'll be eager to get a win, in order to try and bridge the gap to the top three, which currently stands at four points. As for us, three wins and two losses in our last five have seen us move into the playoffs, with a game in hand on the two teams above us, and two games in hand from 6th place Huddersfield. A win on Saturday, against a team higher up will only see our position solidify. The challenge will be adapting to being without Chair, Dieng and Kakay due to the African Cup of Nations...whilst West Brom are without Semi Ajayi. Team News QPR: Sam McCallum, Jordy de Wijs and Jordan Archer will miss out for the R’s, but goalkeeper David Marshall looks to make his debut. West Brom: Alex Mowatt, Sam Johnstone and Cedric Kipre are all suspended, while Robert Snodgrass, Dara O’Shea and Kean Bryan may miss out with injury. Pre-match Talk Mark Warburton (QPR manager): “We are at home in front of a big crowd, we have a responsibility to our supporters. The pressure is on us, we want to be in these games, playing the important matches, enjoying these atmospheres and occasions.” Valérien Ismaël (West Brom manager): “QPR are a strong team who have had a really good first half of the campaign. They have got some really good players and have won some really important games already this year. They are up towards the top end of the table, just like us, and we know that it’ll be difficult on Saturday.” ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Just bought my train ticket, which comes surrounded with ‘subject to cancellation due to COVID’ caveats……big game this one. Think you’ll find Sam Field was a Throstle as well. Cheers Dave.
It will be interesting to see how Warburton will try to defeat this brutalism form of football. Hopefully no towels allowed to prevent the attempted long throws into the box. Maybe West Brom might make a late signing to bring Rory Delap back from the dead. Expect every ball to go go forward and into our box at the earliest opportunity. This is Victorian **** football that was previously exercised by Wimbledon's 'Crazy Gang' in the eighties.
Meaning Austin will only come on a sub if we are losing. If winning 1-0 he needs to stay on the bench. Clear as mud?! He can't be starting games whilst Dykes is vaguely fit.
At this point last season we made a good few loan signings that turned our season completely round. Having signed them all full time in the close season I think everyone would find it hard to argue that for one reason or another they have all been dissapointing....yet we are where we are.
He could come on and get the winner. Agreed his overall decline has been as quick as it's been surprising, but I'd still want a half chance to fall to him ahead of anyone else in our squad.
