    Match Preview;
As it stands there is very little between us and Sheffield Wednesday. We both sit on 38 points, us 10th and them 11th only due to a two goal superior goal difference. From what I remember of it, we looked pretty even during our 1-1 draw at Hillsborough in September, and over the course of the last four months there clearly isn't much between us. Based on current form, however, we should go into this game with confidence.

Sheffield Wednesday have lost two, drawn three and won one of their last five games. Their top scorer is Josh Windass, with 10 goals. Like us, they'll be hoping for a strong second half/final third/final two fifths (depending on how picky you want to be) of the season, and a run towards a playoff place come May. Their manager, Danny Röhl, has been with them since October 2023 and has managed 29 wins from his 71 games in charge...plus he is now officially in his mid-30's (35)...he was 34 when he took the helm there. Makes me feel old. Their top scorer is Josh Windass with 10, followed by Michael Smith with 5 then Barry Bannan with 4.

As for us, four wins and a draw from our last five, and like Sheffield Wednesday, we sit just 4 points outside the playoff places. I don't think that is likely to happen, and it'd probably be too soon if we do somehow get up this year, but here is the challenge...without wanting to wish time away, how can we finish the year strongly, and carry that form into next season? Our top scorer is still Michael Frey with 5, followed by Jimmy Dunne and Rayan Kolli with 4 each. I do feel though we still need to add a consistent goalscorer to our front line, because almost every time I do these threads the other team has a player who has scored more than our top scorer. Could Celar be the answer to this problem? Alfie Lloyd? Paul Smyth? Michael Frey? Discuss.

Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you'll make it to HQ, and as always...

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    Thanks for your efforts, mate.
A win, regardless of how ugly it is, will do me.

Do we ever play well against Wednesday?

In my mind we always struggle.....or is that just me mis-remembering?

And as for Barry fecking Bannan......he seems to have been a thorn in our side for a decade! How old is he?!

It's an unwritten law of the universe that Bannan always scores against QPR.

We just need to score more!

I think Windass is a bigger danger at present, it won't be any easy game...

Last season we were undone by their African strikers, certainly at Hillsboro of whom they have more than their fair share. We will certainly need to win the midfield, lock Barry Bannan out and be strong in the aerial battles when defending

Expecting a very difficult game, we have to keep Bannon quiet, he is key to everything they do. Really hoping we start with a high intensity and get amongst them. We have enough about us to turn these ****ers over, I've got a sneaky feeling this is the game where Chair scores his 1st goal since coming back. Come on you superhoopsa

I am once again reminded of when I was 16/17 and they did a kids for a quid offer at Hillsborough. Some fat nonce steward stopped me going in and had to spend £20 when £20 seemed a lot for an adult ticket. Lost 1-0 from a very questionable late penalty after our keeper (Simon Royce maybe) brought someone down. Have disliked SW ever since. Owl-shagging freaks.

    Injury Update

The club would like to provide supporters with a further update on our players who are currently working their way back to fitness.
The timeframes provided are subject to the players continuing on their current rehabilitation paths.

Unfortunately, Jake Clarke-Salter will have a period of time on the sidelines following a hip injury sustained in training on Monday which requires surgery.

Steve Cook was sidelined by a foot injury sustained during our home fixture with Preston in December while Liam Morrison suffered a muscular injury prior to our Boxing Day trip to Swansea City.
The pair have resumed full training and are available for this weekend’s fixture with Sheffield Wednesday at MATRADE Loftus Road.

Lucas Andersen suffered an injury against the Canaries at Carrow Road last month. The Dane is making good progress and due to resume full training in early February.

Kader Dembele has been progressing well following knee surgery in November and is taking positive steps towards full fitness after completing the first phase of pitch rehabilitation.
The attacker is on track to rejoin the squad in the next 10 days with a view to being available for selection in mid-February.

Žan Celar has been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during our home fixture against Norwich in December. The striker is now onto the second phase of his rehab following surgery and making steady progress.
He is on course to move to the next stage of his recovery on the training pitch by the middle of February and start his grass-based progressions. Once this stage is achieved, a scheduled return to availability can be considered.

Ziyad Larkeche returned to Heston for his rehabilitation after suffering a hamstring injury in November while on loan at Dundee.
He has made a successful recovery and has now rejoined the Scottish Premiership side.

A big plus. Doubt either will start given how Edwards and Fox played the other night. Nice to have the luxury to not rush them.

How the hell can JCS be injured again? He has not even played apart form a few minutes at most since his last comeback. Both he and Paal had clubs wanting them in the Summer. While I understand the desire not to be seen as a soft touch, is our new CEO holding out for too much. However good JCS may be, I make no comment, we have hardly had any value this year or the two previous in terms of his actual playing time. The difference seems to be that we now have replacements and a defensive team which has stood up to the challenge of his unreliability.

    Cheers Dave.

I’m really looking forward to this game. A good test against a decent team with what I think is a good coach. We should be super confident, we have more players scoring goals and a developing a more positive approach and what looks like a tremendous team spirit.

Of course, it’s QPR ……. but

    Bring it on!

It’s exactly what we knew we were getting. Last season is the anomaly in his career. He’s a Prem player when fit and the club backed itself to get him right as it has done with injury-prone players in the past (Field particularly). Perhaps just bad luck he’s not continued that way or no coincidence the head medical/sports science guy now does the job part-time from Dubai.
