I can only guess that Cifuentes thought their giant back line would struggle being turned and facing the pace and determination of Armstrong, and that it was vaguely possible that Armstrong’s touch and composure wouldn’t let him down every time….but even if that had happened there were no runners from midfield getting into the opposition box to make the most of it. After 15 minutes it was clear that it wasn’t going to work.
Cifuentes changed it a bit at HT by having the long balls directed wide. Armstrong got onto many of them too and got round defenders as he did repeatedly all afternoon. The problem, other than that Sinclair is not Messi or even Poveda, was also that after the first 15 minutes or so nobody got up to support him as you say.

All correct, but also their excellent high press made it very difficult to play out.

I can barely remember him getting round anyone, apart from a couple of times. When he did it looked like he had clown's feet on, either losing control of the ball or falling over.
He shouldn't be played up top on his own, but I realise that the other options are just as poor.

Clive completely overlooked the high press from Wednesday which forced us to go long.
They deserved more credit than he gave them.
Neither teams deserved any credit Col. Wednesday were as poor as we were. A goal banged off the knee; did you see that Windass miss (worse than Dykes shot that is currently orbiting the moon and is supposed to be responsible for an eclipse any time soon).

Two very bad sides on the day. We play anywhere like we did over Easter and we win that game.

This has cheered me up after Saturday, the youngest grandson living in Turkey finally fits the baby - grow I took him last year ain't he just a button
I bought a QPR "theme" shirt, with narrower hoops in Florida in Youth size Small, so as he is only 2½ he will have to "grow" into it, as opposed to "out of it" as is the case here, but it will of course be fun while it fits him.
