Really disappointing. We didn't create nearly enough. They defended well as most of shots were blocked and crosses headed away. The second half was way too slow and didn't show any real urgency until the 80th minute. No one had a good game today. It felt like they were waiting for someone to step up and create something. I was really bored in the second half.

I agree with almost all of that, except that I thought Smyth played really well and was very brave in the face of some ferocious (and foul) tackling. He, at least, had a good game today. Also, to be fair, RND is still looking like a good signing and Mbengue and Burrell improved things when they came on.

I thought Varane had a very poor game but it’s fair to say that Cookie was well below his performance at Brizzle.
Some nasty little petulant incidents (kicking out and stamp) shown after the game involving Smyth and Mbengue.
These incidents of keepers feigning injury to waste time have become extremely f@*#ing tedious.

Don’t think there was a lot in either Smyth or Mbengue’s tbh. Ref at least added plenty of time and it’s a near-weekly charade with goalkeepers that refs can do very little about. Nardi does it albeit not quite as blatantly as yesterday.

Weird performance from Varane which he’s prone to do. The midfield was a bit exposed which again Burrell normally helps with a bit more than either Frey or Kone did.

Didn't see this. Can I ask please

Were Smyth and Mbengue the perpetrators or the vvictims of these incidents

Smyth didn’t get a decision he probably should have near their box out wide and left one on the full-back. Didn’t look a lot of contact. Mbengue there was a bit of a tussle late on near the corner flag and he plants his foot but I don’t think if it wasn’t Mbengue there’d be a case for it being deliberate. Both milked as much as possible by the opponent.

Thank you for explanation.
Smyth does that...I understand why, as he takes an awful lot of physical stufg but it will seriously cost us one day.
Mbengue can do that ...but also never looks in full control of his body even when he doesn't mean it

Pure and simply. He picked the wrong team. At home we don't worry about the opposition. He picked a team without pace or flair apart from Smyth as if we were playing away. Same as Oxford at home.

Mild PTSD from that game. First 40 mins, I was as confident as I ever am that we would win it. Dominated possession, reasonable passing and a few chances, not least in the first minute and Smyth hitting the bar.

Sucker punched with two goals. Already analysed to the nth degree.

Good energy from us after we scored and maybe Burrell might have done better at the death.

Really wanted to beat this lot. Maybe we can repay them.at their place!

This keeper injury bullshit has to stop!

****housery 101 from their keeper absolutely disgusting

Phew their keepers ok I was concerned he was badly hurt :emoticon-0173-middl

You know what could stop this? The cheating **** was being interviewed on Sky straight after the game - imagine if the sycophants at Sky had grown a set of balls and asked him about his injury and if he was ok, and watch him squirm as he tried to come up with an answer that didn't make him look more of a **** that he already did

Goes down to what I said about Stephan. He is learning too. International break and 3 match week....he has probably not really come up with that at this level before this season

Smyth over Saito to start perhaps.

But Frey over Burrell ....No!

( But yes leave Hayden on the bench ...yes....he played a full match on Wednesday)

Arteta was the first to start getting his keeper to go down and initiate a break. Just one of the reasons why I loathe the busy little irritant.
It could be easily stopped if they applied the same rule that's currently applied to outfield players who receive treatment. The player has to go off the pitch after treatment and only allowed back on when indicated by ref. Teams would then have to have a defender covering the empty goal. That would stop it.
