Coventry manager, Mark Robbins, is in his seventh year as Coventry manager, and having got them back to League One as winners of league of playoffs in his first full season in charge, 2017/18. After just two seasons in League One, he took them up again, this time as Champions. He has since secured a playoff finish, in 2022/23 although they lost to Luton, and then a 9th place finish but they did have a cup run (this is a phrase I heard before, but had forgotten...google it if you need to), and they reached the FA cup semi-final, whatever that is??? Their top scorer so far is Haji Wright who has 3 goals so far. They've started the season disappointingly, and sit 21st, with two wins, two draws and six losses...and have lost their last two. As for us, we sit bottom of the table, having lost our last four, and before that drawing two after our sole win of the season so far, way back on August 30th against Luton. Cifuentes needs to sort it out asap or else we're going to fade away into oblivion. I couldn't follow on Saturday, but have seen highlights. Two bad mistakes by defenders, a chance wasted by Chair, and at least a point, if not three, gone. Unless we start killing games off, and scoring more than two, we are doomed...I no longer have faith that our defence won't concede at least one in every game. Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you'll make it to HQ, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
I’m going to this, more because I think I should than because I really want to. Also driving which means I won’t drink, because the idea of being stuck on the train back with happy Cov fans does not appeal. Cheers Dave.
If Marti starts Madsen on Tuesday then I could see me actually throwing the towel in! Dozzell was and is twice the player he is and dozzell is ****e. Never have I seen a midfielder at this level, literally hiding from play. To have 2 weeks off to work with the players and then come up with the idea of starting 5 defenders, a defensive midfielder and the invisible Mad, is quite worrying. I presume after all that hard work in training, he will set up the same against Coventry otherwise it may just appear like he's winging it!! Wouldn't it be refreshing if (as Gary Neville said) we start taking the risks in the attacking 3rd instead of playing crab passes across our 18 yard box then wondering why that when we lose it, the opposition are so close to our goal.
Just one lousy win and other results going our way propels us to the dizzy heights of 21st. That's not too much to ask for!
I don't care if its Varane or young Morgan that comes in, but surely now Madsen has to be dropped. Surely!?
Be interesting to see what sort of crowd shows up. On TV and even real ‘main event’ TV at that. Facebook is awash with cheap tickets from ST holders. I’ll be there but Saturday did at least stop me booking Leeds and the £150 all in that would have entailed.
